End Racism Now

I don’t normally rant like this, but I have heard far too many racist remarks from fellow students, and adults. Why do people go around talking about “reversed racism”? Racism is racism is racism no matter who’s being racist. I don’t care if you’re black, white, Asian, Hispanic, Indian, Arabic, Jewish, interracial, etc. If you’re being racist, it’s not “reversed racism”, its just racism.

Why are phrases like reversed racism even used? That implies that only certain groups are truly capable of being racist, and if other groups are racist, they shouldn’t be. If a white person is said to be racist, why does a black person have “reversed” racism? Are white people the only people capable of being racist?

Let’s quit blaming the world’s problems on others and start doing something to combat them ourselves. Don’t complain about minorities supposedly getting a bunch of so-called handouts. Go and visit some schools that service mostly minority children. Do broken chairs, desks, and equipment, outdated textbooks, no library, and overcrowded classrooms equal handouts? Children of immigrants, who don’t always have good paying jobs or the best English, do deserve scholarships if they do well in school.

Did it ever occur to anybody that fighting racism with racism won’t solve any problems? It’s time to eradicate racism. If you have racist parents or relatives, don’t take their views for granted. If you’re racist, maybe you should read about the good things people of other races have done. Don’t jump to conclusions because of the actions of a few people.

Not all black people are in gangs, not all Asians are black belts. Not all white people are uptight, most Latino’s are not violent, and not every Indian is an alcoholic. There are plenty of white, and Asian gangsters, plenty of black people who hate gang activity, many violent white, Asian, Indian and black people, etc. Nobody is pre-determined to be a certain way just because of the color of his or her skin. It’s time to stop hating people just because of how they look. Anybody can be a hero, and anybody can be an asshole regardless of race.
