Green in eyes, and red in hair
although she knows it to be silver
A tiny waist, like before, but her hips have grown
A full bloom
Darling, silver dreams cascade down her cheeks
They've blushed a deep crimson since
She found boys and the love in her mother's
makeup box.
She shook off pink,
Finding a new fascination for black leather
And silver lipstick.
Honey-brown curls tumbled down her back,
Clad in sad silks and
Dancing chains of silver.
Or maybe she'll be blonde this week?
With tiny hearts in her ears?
And love wrapped close around her wrists?
Green in eyes, once again red in hair.
She found a new road to travel.
Grey and brown sweaters and
Curls left straight and wrapped in buns.
Tied across her forehead
With a long silver chain.

This is what it means to mean to "finally grow up." Love to everyone who realised that no, they don't know everything, and yes, maybe we did waste our youth. But we wouldn't waste whatever we had left.

Mina
