Death Trap

Forsaken shadows crawl into my mind
Holding me down in rusted chains
So full of everyone’s pain
Afraid to be hurt again

Darkness plunders my soul into the abyss
Vanquishing my emotions that keeps me sane
Holding my breath when I hear them screaming,
Afraid to let go and stop hearing

Blasted dagger in hand
Fought so many wars and only have one more
To slaughter ones self and end this tyranny
Except a whisper ones quiet now hoarse
Has crashed through my thoughts
And has left me in doubt

Death my only escape route from this massacre mess
But maybe that’s an illusion of freedom
And it really is something else

Endless possibilities of the unknown
Only known when it’s too late
The bloody dagger slips from my fingers
I can sense the darkness taken aback
An indrawn breath of complete shock
My choice unknown
Until it’s already too late.

Death is truly a trap
A snare to keep your soul
All the pain and all the agony
Falls with you where it will stay
And for the rest of eternity
To endure the pain
