White lies, false smiles, little things that never reach her eyes
At night she stares at the stars, eyes dry, no tears left to cry

Deep, the love runs, winding through her, ending? Never
Hanging on to jaded memories, empty promises of forever
Give, give give, the well is dry, and nothing does she receive
Every day she sees him turn, she has to watch him leave

White lies, false smiles, little things that never reach her eyes
At night she stares at the stars, eyes dry, no tears left to cry

Light night phone calls, bones he throws, spiking hope
Reminiscing memories, love held by a fraying rope
Growing up, tired of trying, she’s leaving him behind
What’s done is done, no turning back, the dotted line she’s signed

White lies, false smiles, little things that never reach her eyes
At night she stares at the stars, eyes dry, no tears left to cry

Mind’s shelf, on a box, memories of him remain
Gathering mental dust, a new love does she entertain?
Not yet, no, she won’t be ready, not for while, and long
Relearn her life, discover her friends, create a new place to belong

No more lies, stunning smiles, the dancing of life in her eyes
By day she writes a new tune to life, and sees no reason to cry

She’ll be ok.

Very different from my usual style, but I had a… break through of sorts today. Two years is too long. Far too long. Either he loves me or he doesn’t, and if he can’t decide, then I will. I’m moving on, and letting go.
