A plea for the oppressed

by Idaho Shepherd

Author’s Note:

We survived Birth.

Every day countless young lives are ended without cause, need,

or thought.

Abortion is wrong. There is no question. I am not here to preach or judge or condemn; just to tell the sad, ugly truth. Unborn children are dying and we are allowing it to happen. Many, if not all of us are old enough to have been aborted, but our mothers, fathers, and families valued life so we are here. Life is precious, value it. This is my strong belief and I am sticking to it. It was not my intention to offend you.

we delight to see

in the land of the free

children happily, safely play;

or so we say.

like a spark in a dark room,

like a young new dew covered bloom,

that frost and wind visited again,

a life snuffed out before it could begin.

her daddy’s eyes clear and bright

a smile to bring joy and light.

But she wasn’t the one;

her mother wanted a son.

our daughters, brothers, sisters, sons;

ended before they’d all begun.

who they’d be won’t be known

leader, thinkers, friends could have grown.

what now will the world do

if they all could see

without mercy they were all slew

in the land of the free?
