SHATTERED

Wake up in the evening,

Take a step outside the door.

Gently, calmly breathing--

Only this, and nothing more.

The monster inside her

Tells nothing but lies.

She wouldn't let it leave,

But didn't want it to bide.

Two lovers holding hands

Caused her frown to fade.

A smile had slowly formed,

But all she felt was hate.

Death's cold fingers

Had once touched her heart.

Dying, but not living,

Wanting things she's never sought.

She slayed her hopes,

She slayed her dreams.

Quietly comes her death...

Cause she killed everything;

Everything but a breath.
