Lost

As I stand here alone in the rain,

With a bubble swelling inside full of pain,

I gaze at the stormy sky and think

As my whole body goes down under and sinks.

'I want to go over there, I want to go back'

I thought, as everything began to turn black.

I let out a cry and reached out, grasping for something,

But the something turned out to be nothing.

As I awoke here, in this unkown place,

I did not see a single familiar face.

I sat up on my bed, drenched in water

And instead of being cold, everything got hotter.

My stomach churned and I wanted to hurl

as my vision suddenly began to swirl.

Sweat enveloped my body, everything was so hot,

And just like that, my body went taut.

And again, I awoke in this place of the unkown.

I blinked and looked around for a phone.

A nurse came by, and I asked for my mother.

She said she wasn't here, and neither was my brother.

I sat there stunned, thinking 'Did they not care?'

'Everything in this whole stupid world is so unfair!'

I jumped out of the bed and ran out of the room,

Guided by the light of the full moon.

I came across a room full of babies fast asleep

With a bag full of diapers lying in a heap.

I smiled to myself, watching these angelic faces

'How can they be stuck here, out of all the places?"

I heard someone coming, so I ran down the hall.

Careful, so that I woudn't trip and fall.

I made a sharp turn, and bumped into a nurse.

I went around her and heard her curse.

I ran and ran, as fast as I could.

Passing rooms full of desks of wood.

And there, I saw, how could it be?

The exit was right in front of me.
