neogenius
Section: psychology/neurology
Rare class of intelligence first documented in the early twenty-first century. Impossible to measure by classic intelligence quotient tests, though estimated to be approximately 400. Neogenius has been present in a documented 14 individuals since its discovery in 2016. 13 have fallen victim to the distortia effect, a recently classified psychological disease affecting only those of the neogenius mentality. Of the 13 victims only six remain alive, and are all on life support systems after the distortia effect left them comatose. Its rarity and lack of conscious specimens have left it highly unstudied. Its cause is unknown, though there are a few theories. Some believe it is a genetic mutation, and evolutionary, and that the neogeniuses are a new subspecies of human. This theory is not widely accepted. Most scientists and medical professionals believe it is rooted somewhere in the nervous system of the body. A study has been recently funded to begin studying the neurology of neogeniuses. There is no progress in the study to report at this time.
