A/N:
My sister Katie and I made this story up about three assassins and thought it was kind of interesting. Read, and review.
U.D.A. Messing with Death
Takata, Katsuka and Melanie stood in a in an old warehouse that was completely silent and dark. They were up against a wall, pressing their backs against it, holding their breaths, not daring to breath.
The girls inched forward in the hallway as the neared the corner where it turned into the different part of the hallway that was unknown. Takata took at deep breath and sat for a minute, her gun ready.
She jumped out into the hallway pointing her gun forward looking for the assassin. But nothing was there, just the flickering light with an eerie glow. She tucked her short red hair over her ear and turned to the other two girls, still pressed against the wall, nervously waiting. She gave them a hand motion for them to continue and they trotted after her.
Melanie and Katsuka nervously followed; their guns too, at ready. Melanie bit her lip, her hands shaking as she held the gun up, her eyes nervously darting about.
“This is scary,” she admitted as they walked down the hallway, silence tingling like death.
Suddenly, there was a scurrying on the ground. Katsuka gasped twirling around. Takata, Katsuka and Melanie looked at each other with a heavy relief. A fat black rat scurried across the floor, squeaking and looking up at the three girls, his little pink nose quivering, and his squeaking echoing off of the walls.
Katsuka flushed as she watched the rat waddle by. “What a relief,” she said flipping her strait brown hair over her back.
The three continued forward, wondering what would happen next. Wondering if these were their last moments alive.
In the dim flickering light, the girls spotted a door with a shiny silver doorknob. Five Chinese dragons were carved into the door. The three approached the door, their heads spinning with nervousness, their body cramped with terror.
Tataka peered at Katsuka and Melanie, a drop of sweat rolling down her cheek. Her hand quivering, Tataka reached for the doorknob, she hesitated, her eyes narrowing down at the doorknob. Slowly turning it, her heart raced like the flapping of a humming bird’s wings.
The door creaked open, revealing a dark room with a big window, the full moon making a silver ray down the center of the room. “A-any body here,” Katsuka choked stepping into the room here eyes blinking left and right.
The girls filed into the room, each pointing their guns a different direction. Something caught Melanie’s eye. It was a woman. She had long thick red hair and eyes green like a cats, it was leader of the D.A., Natsume.
She gasped whipping into her direction, her heart shaking, her hands shaking. “W-w-who are you,” she exclaimed pointing the gun wildly at her. “Tell us your name!”
The woman smiled and chuckled to herself. “It’s me,” she said. “The one you’ve been looking for. I’m the leader of the D.A.” There was a pause. “What are you waiting for, assassins, kill me.”
The three girls looked at each other in astonishment. “Why do you want to kill Lady Dragon,” Takata said suddenly stepping forward. The woman said nothing.
“Tell us your name,” demanded Katsuka. Her voice echoed off of the wall. “Tell us now!” The woman said nothing. Silenced mocked the three girls for what seemed like hours.
The woman stood up and brushed off her skirt. She flipped her long red hair over her back. “I’ll make a deal with you,” she said approaching Katsuka. “You get as far away from this building as you can in two minutes, and I’ll let you live.”
There was a dead silence. Katsuka’s eyes turned huge as she inched out of the doorway followed by Melanie and Takata.
That night, the girls arrived at the U.D.A. Lady Dragon sat in silence staring at Takata, Katsuka and Melanie in disappointment. “And so she said ‘You get as far away from this building as you can in two minutes, and I let you live’,” Lady Dragon asked rubbing her eyes. Her black hair shone in the moonlight through the windows.
The three girls nodded at the ground in the darkness. “Were sorry,” they said in unison.
Lady Dragon sighed. “I hired you three so you could protect me from the leader of the M.A., Natsume. I hope I didn’t mistake you for brave women comparing to a couple of wimps.” The girls said nothing.
Lady Dragon stood up; she was silver in the light of the moon. She left the room shutting the door behind her with a click. The girls looked at each other with sorrow and regret.
