My Last Journey

It was a night,

One of the sweetest nights,

With the moon up high

And the stars in the sky.

The sound of the waves,

Crashing over the rocks,

Never sounded so,

Soothing.

I stood over it all,

Trying not to let

My heart shake.

This was my last,

Truly great,

Adventure.

And when those

Blinking lights,

Started flashing.

All those guys in blue,

Shouted,

To bring me back.

I’d already made up

My mind,

This was the end.

If I couldn’t have you now,

I’d rather

Be dead.

Someone stepped,

Out of the car.

They were crying,

Trying,

To keep calm.

My mother,

Arms wide open,

Tried to bring me back.

I shook my head,

And took a step closer,

To my life stories end.

And when those

Blinking lights,

Started flashing.

All those guys in blue,

Shouted,

To bring me back.

I’d already made up

My mind,

This was the end.

If I couldn’t have you now,

I’d rather

Be dead.

Another face,

One that stung me,

So bad.

My best friend,

Hardly standing,

Reaching with a shaky hand.

I reached back for her,

Wishing I could,

Offer some sort of comfort.

But I couldn’t back down now,

I’d come to far,

This was the end.

And when those

Blinking lights,

Started flashing.

All those guys in blue,

Shouted,

To bring me back.

I’d already made up

My mind,

This was the end.

If I couldn’t have you now,

I’d rather

Be dead.

That’s when he came,

Out of the seat

Of a cruiser.

With a tear in his eye,

And a quivering heart,

Just like mine.

He tried to come close,

He tried to take me,

And pull me away.

But he couldn’t know,

Just how much,

I truly loved him.

He couldn’t know,

That I couldn’t live,

Without him.

This friendship wasn’t enough,

I needed a hug,

And truly real love.

But me and him,

Could never be together,

So I took one step back.

I started falling,

Forever.
