I think we all may have dealt with something like this poem I wrote. You may not be the best athlete but you get hounded in PE by those over-competitive jocks if you don’t do something right. Wah wah. I got this idea earlier today and it all just flowed to me. Sorry if it’s kind of badly-written or boring, but this is what I got. Please give constructive criticism for this if you have any. Thanks.

You yell at me
And my friends.
You scream and whine and
Punch things.
The reason?
Because I didn’t kick the ball.
You say
That I am a sore loser
Who doesn’t deserve to walk this Earth.
That ‘people like me’
Don’t do any good for our school
Because I can’t kick a little ball.
I was such a wuss
When the ball flew toward me
So I ducked
(I’m addicted to mended bones,
Sorry.)
If I had tried kicking
You would have yelled at me anyway
So what’s the difference?
Your social enemy was on the other team
And I let him drown in glory
And made you look like a loser
Because I didn’t kick a piece of rubber
So that makes me the loser.
Over the years we have known each other
You ridiculed me,
My friends,
And anyone below your status.
You didn’t care about us in the first place
Why care if we kick the ball or not?
Will your game matter in ten years?
Will you hate me forever?
For making you look like a failure
For breaking your winning record
For ruining your chances at the Olympics
Because I didn’t kick the ball?
Well, I say whatever.
Because my own life matters in ten years
My chance at being a college graduate is what matters.
The environment matters in ten years
So do dying AIDs victims,
People fighting in war
And the extinction of earth itself.
So I didn’t kick your stupid ball
I really don’t care.
So I didn’t win the Tournament that is P.E. class.
What, you mean you’re still mad about it,
After two weeks?
So I didn’t kick the ball…
Big deal.
Now shut up about it already.
