Guardian Angel
The white robes of the young girl, perhaps no older than Jason himself had been soiled many times over by the decaying matter of the urban setting. As his eyes ran like fingers over the arching wings of the beauty that lay before him, Jason could not comprehend why such a gift had been given to him.
“Me?” the young boy asked, his question full of doubt.
“Yes, of course you,” she answered in a wispy reply that enveloped him from all sides. “I have traveled so far to help you,” pleaded the young girl as she staggered to her feet. “Is there nothing I can do?”
Turning his back on the pitiful, whimpering angel, he could only reply, “There is nothing you can do for me.”
Before he could move, her tiny hand was wrapped around his ankle, “You can’t go!” she cried out desperately, “I came here to protect you and that is what I shall do.”
“You can’t protect me.”
“Sure I can. I can fulfill your any wish. The only condition is that it must bring good to other people.”
“You want to bring good to other people?” Jason turned so that he could look right into the big, brown eyes that started up at him. “Then go away, and don’t waste your time protecting me.”
