For those of you who don’t already know me from the fanfiction dot com website, I am also known as PhantomAL. I just have a new name. Anyway, I decided to make my first work of original work based off my life. Only a lot different. For example, in this story, I go to a regular middle school, not a private school. And NO last names have been given away. So, enjoy my first non-based-off-a-TV-show-work of fiction!

Meet the Characters

Alex:

Everyone is different in one way or another. Alex, well… he is the embodiment of difference at his school. A combination of Danny Fenton and Cosmo Kramer, Alex is 13 years old and has a lot to say about his life. Sarcastic but sweet, Alex is just trying to make his way through the obstacles of teenage life: puberty, crushes, bullies, and the utter horror that is algebra. Luckily for him, he’s got his best friends Margaret, the first girl to ever be friends with him for more than two minutes, and Kevin, a 12 year old TV fanatic with a very loose grip on reality. Unfortunately, Alex’s life takes a turn for the weird as an ancient curse upon his house is unleashed onto himself. The curse being an ancient god of insanity, which is now in Alex’s body. Well, that adds to the list of things Alex has to work out.

AL:

Alex’s other half, and possibly his stranger one at that, is the insane, yet good-natured air-accordion playing super hero that is AL. AL, originally the Greek god of insanity, has been trapped inside AL’s body. However, he is more than happy to help Alex with his problems, whether it’s needed or not. Now with superhuman powers, Alex must survive his teenage life and his new ALter ego. But Alex can separate himself from AL anytime he needs his assistance. The only ones who know about Alex’s secret are his friends Margaret and Kevin. But the more AL goes insane, the harder it is for Alex to keep control of AL. So, he has keep control of his other hALf AND tackle being a teenager. Try to hang on to THAT dream.

Margaret:

Margaret and ALex are best friends who have a lot in common. They’re both unique beyond belief. They have the same interests. And they both like TV, movies, video games, and books almost as much as each other. At 13 years old, Margaret is basically one of the only smart people in the school. The only problem: she doesn’t always get taken seriously. Luckily, Alex is there to help her out with anything. Unfortunately, AL’s help might not be the best for her. Considering the fact that both Alex and AL have a crush on Margaret. But aside from that, Margaret is a sweet girl that has been neglected into having a few demented, yet amusing thoughts about the outcomings of her fellow peers at school…

Kevin:

Kevin is the “Jake” to AL’s “Elwood”. The “Silent Bob” to AL’s “Jay”. The “Tucker” to AL’s “Danny.” Ok, enough with the analogies. Point blank: Kevin is Al’s best friend. Though not really the brains of the operation, Kevin helps both Alex and AL with anything he needs. The only downside: Kevin has a loose grip on reality. So, sometimes he starts spouting off random gibberish that doesn’t make sense. Good thing AL’s there to snap Kevin back to reality. However, Kevin is a smooth-talker and always gets AL out and (mostly) into trouble.
