Dreaming

There goes another baby,
Another mother's breaking heart
Only a young man, falling down
Just gunshots in the dark

Another child who doesn't understand
Why everyone is wearing black
What is in that long wooden box?
When is Daddy coming back?

So many reasons to kill a man
But we haven't found one yet
So free that we don't understand
Auschwitz, a name we can forget

A bloody history, but we fight on
Homes wrought onto violence
Civilians with no where to run
And all we have is silence

Another bomb tears up the town
Echoes over screaming
Flames linger over empty playground
Can you say that they are dreaming?

Imagine no more screaming
Bloodshed and explosions cease
Imagine no more needless dying
Imagine finding peace.
