Of Silver Words and Heaven
by Grace Liou

You inspired me to paint
words of silver and gold.
With the simple touch of your skin
and the pink tinge on your lips,
you whispered
and strummed the words
from my mouth.
Like a thousand violins
and a frozen city in the palm
of your hand,
you sang
of the roaring tumble
of thundering waves,
the sound of white feathers
floating in the breeze,
the crystal of dew as it slides
down a wax leaves,
and the laugh of
purple stained lips.
Glazing into the screen
glazing the haze
of the shimmering smiles
and tousled hair
I see a boy
from my dreams
rising up from the sea
gleaming
and taking my hand
and flying with me
above
and above
slipping into the sanctuary
of silver words
and heaven.
