"What happened to us? We used to be best friends. We used to eat our lunches together in the school yard. Play hopscotch and marbles. You used to pull my hair and I would kick you in the shins. Then high school happened. You fell in with one crowd, I fell in with another. Before we knew it, no more lunch together. We saw less and less of each other. You found a girlfriend and she didn't like me. So we stopped talking to each other.

I miss my best friend. It's like I don't exist to you any more. Do you remember who I am? I'm happy life is going so well for you. Now you don't need to have a best friend in life. Maybe I do. I've had a lot of bad shit happen in the past two and a half years. My parents got divorced. My mother can barely function any more and has loss her job. It's pretty much all on me to take care of the family. I'm just under a lot of pressure. I'm flunking out of school. Social services are threatening to take us all away. I can't talk to my boyfriend about any of it because he just doesn't give a shit.

I tried to talk to you once but you were too busy getting laid. Don't you see? I need help! I need my best friend back. But you've changed. I don't fit into your world anymore. It's embarrassing to be around me. This loser stoner whore, right?

I still look at the stars.

-Jesse"
