“I’ve never hit a girl in my life,” he said, “and I don’t plan too.”

What a lie! That’s what she thought as she watched him walk away with careless eyes. He’d dealt her a hard one to her chest. She leaned forward, grasping at it, taking shallow breaths. Her eyes filled up with tears as she tried to figure it out. He was fast. She had only leaned in to hug him…to kiss him fondly. Then, suddenly, out of nowhere there was a pain in her chest. Never hit a girl? He must be silly. Not before today, maybe. She hadn’t even seen his fists come towards her. Yet, she couldn’t breathe, and she felt that she would die.

“We need to have a talk about our relationship,” he had said. “There’s another girl,” he had finished.

Gasping, she tried to stand straight again. She wanted to so badly to brush the tears from her face. She wanted HIM to brush them away, in that gentle caring way. But he was fading out into the distance. Had anyone else seen him lash out and hit her? He had just sent her flying across the ring! She collapsed to her knees, giving in to the full effect of the pain from his mouth; which was far worst than that of the fist that she had never felt. Though, at this moment in time, she wished it would have been his fist against her skin. And not his hatred in her soul.

Boy…er…Ex-Boyfriend: 1. The Forgotten Love: 0.

And she was dead.
