For those of you who know it, this is to the tune of the Hebrew song “D’ror Yikra”.

)O(

The songs we sing call on powers old

The dances tell stories yet untold

Breezes tumble through the air, flowers rise up soft and fair

The sundrops fall like a rain of gold. (x2)

--

The trees they reach branches to the sky

The stars they sing to the birds that fly

Come and join, hand in hand, dance in circles ‘cross the land

We dance our life as we live and die. (x2)

--

The fishes’ eyes tell of hidden seas

The insects spin on the morning breeze

Dogs that roll on the earth, know of death and know of birth

The fire brings shadows to the trees. (x2)

--

The moon at night and the sun by day

They light our path and they guide our way

We honor them all life long, work and dance and gift and song

They laugh as one, God and Goddess gay. (x2)

--

The dance it weaves round an ancient tree

The song it sets weary spirits free

Working finished just begun, one is all and all are one

The power’s called, so mote it be! (x2)

)O(

This can be used as a circle drawing/quarter calling/something. The third verse is each of the elements, the fourth is Spirit, and the fifth closes it. So it can be used to start off a ritual, perhaps paired with a dance. What do you think? I’d love to hear your ideas!
