"Forgotten"

Jade Kismet

A/N: I wrote this about a year or less ago. The first poem I've posted on this site, by the way. I hope it meets expectations. This is part of a series of poems and songs I've written called Perfumed/Petrified.

The sun sets and closes the day

The stars come out and shine like always

No one even cares to hear her cry

Or her her lies

For what they are

I don’t think I’m here for all I am

Can you tell?

Lie in bed and cry a soft lullaby

The dark sets in to tuck her in tonight

Her whispered nightmare hidden by the wind

Is where it begins

To tell the tale

She’s left us wondering where she’s gone

Do you know?

Tension is building

Time is drifting away

Still no one asks where she is

We’ve already forgotten

Again…
