Title: Forbidden Love

Author: Mephistophilis

Summary: (Yaoi)

Lucifer, a demon from the lowest depths of Hell, escapes into the human world, and what he stumbles into is not quite what he expected to find.

Aoife, a fallen Angel seeking revenge for an unjust judgment made to him that cost him his right wing. But, what he found is too big to handle, even for him!

Rating: Mature (for future contempt)

Warning:

This story is yaoi: MxM action. If you get nauseous at sight of two men holding hands, kissing, or doing some other stuff, I recommend that you leave… Now. Religious disputes, angst, violence, and a lot of weirdness. If you are a close minded person or get offense quite easily, I recommend you to leave.

Chp 8:...or better known as: TRSC!!!

In other words: The Ridiculously Short Chapter.

Dante bursts through his door and slops his way in to crumble on the couch; long face, eyes astray and blood-shot, and spirits as low as the mud clinging to his boots. He heaves a long sigh, as his shoulders slump. He shakes his head as he strains his mind, recounting all the places he has been to in the last three days.

It’s been three days... He glances to the side and his gaze meets the crumbled papers resting on the kitchen table. Three days... He clenches his teeth and his hands roll into fists.

But before he could do much more, everything goes completely black.

His body is laying limply sideways, unconscious on the couch, a frown in his face and fists still clenched. He had to sometime: without rest or food for three days straight, it is only fair that his body should rebel against him like this, and luck that it did in his own home.

Searching for him for three whole days, day in and day out, high and low, everywhere and anywhere he could think of; finding not hide or feather of his Fallen One. He now rests with troubled dreams. His restless mind, running to the outskirts of the city, to the border, to the outline of the wide open seas...

The black and white clock on the kitchen wall ticks away the minutes as the seconds slip away as the restless form of the red-head turns and shoves in his sleep. The hands make their slow progress around the clock’s white face.

A loud thud can be heard from the heap of the red haired man, now on the floor. Dante heaves himself on all fours with a groan. As he scratches his reddened forehead (which was the first thing that hit the floor as he fell from the couch), he rests his back on the foot of the couch and sleepily looks around, expecting something to jump on him from behind one of the doors.

Then recognition falls on him as his eyes focus on the kitchen table. He darts his gaze to the clock and curses: more than nine hours have passed since he passed out. He scrambles to his feet and darts to his room while muttering curses and the uselessness of sleep. He peals off the green shirt he is currently wearing and rips another one from the closet. As he turns, pocking his head through the shirt’s hole, something catches his attention from the corner of his eye. When he turns around, he stops cold as he stares at his bed. His eyes narrow in suspicion, s he comes closer and kneels down. Underneath his bed, the strangest thing: something is glowing. (HA! Bet you thought it was Aoife!!) He blindly grasps for the glowing object, still cursing himself for having overslept. Actually, for having fallen asleep at all! He peeks under the bed and squints at an open book halfway under the bed. He stretches himself and pulls it out, while wondering why he actually is wasting time figuring out why one of his books is glowing instead of searching for him. ‘He could be anywhere by now!’ he thinks bitterly as he mentally kicks himself as the book slides out from under the bed and stops at the nightstand’s feet. Dante’s eyes grow wide as he recognizes the book, but the feelings of worry and confusion fight to see who the one to settle themselves on him. This is the Forbidden Book, or better known as The Dark Bible. ‘I had forgotten I even HAD the thing! And it’s open in the Book of Deaths... not a good omen...’

Pushing aside the thoughts if darting out to find him for a moment, he pulls the huge book towards him as he sits down cross-legged. Eyeing the yellowed and aged pages of the opened book, he notices that they had settled on the first act of the Book of Deaths. Not knowing really what this book is about, since he had only had the chance to eye the first acts of the very first book before he had been caught in the act... and the little he knows about the book is nothing short of bad news. So he takes it to read it, settling it on his legs. But he can’t help and wonder how is it that the book got under his bed, since the last time he saw it, it was in the High Office in the Heavenly Quarters, many years ago. And how had it got opened in the worst part of this unforgivable recollection of Books, and why is it that it was, and still is, glowing? And the weird thing isn’t that the book is glowing, the intriguing thing is that only parts of the whole text is glowing; specific parts glow brightly, while others glow a little bit dimmer.

He starts to read the glowing texts around the huge, time-eaten pages. As his eyes dart from one side of the script to the other, reading the bright lines and paragraphs, his eyes grow slightly wide with every word he reads. He hastily turns to page and reads on.

After reading half of the Deaths’ Book, his breathing is deep and ragged, but it sure isn’t because of the age-old dust he has been breathing for the past few minutes. It is because of the dawning of understanding. He hastily finishes the Book and darts out the apartment, leaving the book open on his room floor, dimly glowing and fading into darkness.

As the usual darkness of the room swallows the glow, only a pair of words shine the longest: “-and The Cursed One shall destroy that which has been done-“ and total darkness rules in the room once more, as the door swings itself closed.

The Finale for Chapter Eight

Authoress’ Ramblin’s::;.

I know!! X.x This is ridiculously short! But I had to cut it here!! I HAVE TO!! If I don’t, the thing will be ruined!! And anyway, this is a perfect cliffy!!! XD So now, you’ll HAVE to come back and read to see where Dante went, and if knows where to find Aoife!! Oh, and you prolly know who I’m talking about with ‘The Cursed One’, rite? (Wink) PLZ! Have pity on this little black heart of mine!! (cowers behind a pillow) don’ send the evil prunes... Prunes... tiny, wrinkly, thingies form HELL!!!! (Rocks back and forward) No prunes... no prunes...
