Lux Lucis

Heaven plays games with our boundless sky

Pouring soft ash into the clouds

Rinsing away the world’s sin with sheets of frigid rain

Burning blood read as a eulogy for the sun

So many facades, infinite moods

Escaping a painter’s eye and staining the canvas all at once

Man reaches for the solid azure abyss

Always a step behind paradise, a leap from perfection

Gentle clouds smile in pity at our earthbound gawking eyes

Angels swoop and swirl as children of the sun

No bridges

No ladders

Just puddles of sky against endless clouds
