"In the Braum's parking lot again
making faces at Jeff through the window
priceless snapshots of deliberate immaturity.
And now Laura's hollerin'
Giving some truck the finger, but laughing the whole time.
There's a squeal of "DAVID!" as Allie tries to beat him with her broken flip-flop,
But David's just too damn fast.
Sunshine is raining down
And our music is way too loud
But we just dance around,
Cause this is our own little song of summer.
Michael's decked out in all his goth glory,
Whining about the heat,
And Yates is gabbing on the phone in her too short skirt,
Bubbly, as she always is.
Cross-legged on the top of the car is Giz,
Singing loudly off-key,
And next to him is PC,
My two crazy-ass brothers, but I love them anyway.
Sunshine is raining down
And our music is way too loud
But we just dance around,
Cause this is our own little song of summer.
Jeff clocks out and joins the crowd
Cracking jokes that he knows aren't funny,
But we pile into the cars
Cruise the back streets of Memorial 'til 2 AM,
And one by one we crash into bed
Gearing up to do it again.
Sunshine is raining down
And our music is way too loud
But we just dance around,
Cause this is our own little song of summer."
