A/N: I’m not quite sure how exactly this song came about…maybe listening to too much Kelly Clarkson? Anyway, feedback appreciated, considering I’ve been in a writing slump as of late. It took me nearly took weeks to write just this. Please review!
Love’s Death
I burned everything that reminded me of you
Tore all your pictures off the wall too
It’s been so long since we last talked
I can scarcely remember the last time we walked
Hand-in-hand, we used to be so happy
Though you know I hated being sappy
I’m searching for a place to hide
Trying to escape from the chaos in my mind
But the image of you still remains to this day
And the memories can no longer stay
I needed you for the longest time
Now I see that you were never mine
I’ve asked myself, ‘Where did I go wrong?’
I can still hear you singing that stupid love song
Back then, I never stopped to wonder if it was all a lie
We were so close, how did our knot come untied?
Once you were the fuel to my fire
But that fire has now become my funeral pyre
I’m searching for a place to hide
Trying to escape the chaos in my mind
But the image of you still remains to this day
And the memories can no longer stay
I needed you for the longest time
Now I see that you were never mine
I guess you never really felt the same
So you know, my feelings aren’t part of some child’s game
Look me in the eye, tell me you don’t care
I hope all my hurt becomes your nightmare
But for now I’ll carry all the weight
And proclaim the extent of my hate
I’m searching for a place to hide
Trying to escape the chaos in my mind
But the image of you still remains to this day
And the memories can no longer stay
I needed you for the longest time
Now I see that you were never mine
I’m searching for a place to hide
Trying to escape the chaos in my mind
But the image of you still remains to this day
And the memories can no longer stay
I needed you for the longest time
Now I see that you were never mine
Love causes too much misery
Love causes too much misery…
