Time’s Idol is a Clock:

I wish to take the day away
For then all time would cease
With time’s reign fallen, it’s power stripped
I’d spend life how I please

No more rush or wasted youth
No more hurried hours
No more watching clockhands move
And to their rotation cower.

No more seconds racing by,
Minutes close behind,
Hours pacing slowly, yet adding
Causing the day to pass by

(I wish to take the day away)

You praise a clock
With watchful eyes
Without a slight
Realization
