Period 7: World History Honors/IB (MUN)

Position papers in the back tray—

those papers that took up three hours

of what could have been a good Sunday,

probably,

had work not intruded.

Lecture—teacher talks,

students write,

or doze off in the back row,

only to be startled awake just as they were beginning to dream.

“Another conference,” the teacher says,

“if you want to go.”

Want to go?

Hm. MUN conference,

or my birthday party…

MUN conference,

or my birthday party…

The sad thing is, I say MUN conference.
