The Last Resort
Things are bad again.
He dumped you again,
And now you’re knocking on my door.
Your lips still feel warm.
Your arms long for someone,
So to me you’ve turned again.
Well why the hell,
Is it that,
I’m just some last resort.
And why the hell,
Can’t anyone,
Just love me straight up.
I’m only good,
For keeping you less lonely.
It’s time for you,
To solve your own damn problems.
And once I’ve said it all.
Those tears of yours start to fall,
And you collapse into my arms.
It’s kills me so damn bad.
That’s just not important,
Cause now you’re the only one that matters.
Well why the hell,
Is it that,
I’m just some last resort.
And why the hell,
Can’t anyone,
Love me for real.
Instead I’m just,
Some dumb kid left over.
Who’s always there,
When things start to go wrong.
We’re in my house.
It’s me and you,
And I want a kiss so bad.
There’s just one problem.
Nothing you do,
Could ever be real.
You’ve never loved me.
All you see,
Is all those other guys.
And you know,
This last resort,
Will always wait for you.
But why the hell,
Can’t you come to me first,
And why the hell,
Can’t you just love me.
Why can’t you just,
See me here,
Cringing when you say.
“I loved that man,
and wanted him to stay.”
