Tentative

Tendrils extending

Reaching to learn what is new.

Delicate arms

Are trust are in open,

Timidly wanting to dance.

Memories

Wanting to come

But cower in shadow of fear.

Feelings

Pushed into corners,

Reborn after many cold years.

Do you wish as I do,

For days of adventure

And friendship that’s more then just that?

I may never know,

And I’m scared to address it-

I don’t want to push you far back.

You are one of the few

Who know me as I am

And don’t care if the bad parts come out.

The gift of your caring

I cherish too much

To take risks with your heart

Or hut you with my love.

Do you feel as I do?

Or am I pretending,

Fooling myself that it’s true?

Tentative,

Hoping and yearning,

And keeping it hidden from you.
