I warm my hands in the
Hollow of your back
And I feel
Expecting feathers or something
Light and soft
Against my fingertips
But finding only
The warmth of your skin
I warm my lips against
The nape of your neck
And move across in search
For the beat of war drums
The beat of a fierce sadness
But find only peace in your pulse
I warm my feet under
Your bed covers
And hide my smiles
In the softness of your hair
I look for leafs or twigs
Something wildly romantic
And adventurous
But find only strands of
Blond and brown
I keep my secrets in your
Eyes
And whether or not you may know this
You hold an entire life's biography
In the your pupils
I tell all about
Everything
And kiss you so you smile
So that I can tell you
How beautiful you are
And hide away inside your arms
I give you my heart
Encrusted with jewels
And embedded with glass
Hairline fractures like an old
Antique tea cup
Filled with peppermint leafs
And honey
And tears
I whisper my fears
Into your kiss
And wish I was small
So that I could fit in your tear drops
And whisper
I… Love… You
Whenever I see fit
dedicated to little girls with teacup hearts
