A/N: Wow an update from me. I bet this is a shock to everyone. Sorry for the delay, but writers block is a bitch. This chapter has not been corrected, so try and deal with it..please. Hope eveyone enjoy's. I am writing chapter 3 right now. You will all like it I do believe. There is a lemon in it!

The next morning dawned bright and early. Gade had not gotten much sleep the night before, he could not forget about what the woman had said to him. He still did not understand what he was to do, other then kill the vampires. Opening his eyes and rubbing the sleep from them he sat up and looked around. There was nothing unusual about his room or out of place. No one had paid him a visit last night, that he was grateful for.

"Gade I'm glad you are awake. Your training begins today." Gade jumped, not expecting to hear anyone's voice so early in the morning. He was surprised to see that it was the actual woman who had told him he was a slayer, and not the light. She stood at the edge of his bed in an all white garment. The garment looked to be an eloquent dress with gold on the cuffs and around the neck. Her hair was a beautfil blonde and hanging down her back in a curtain of satin.

Gade felt slighty ashamed of not looking better at the moment. His brown hair which was usualy spiked, was all of his head, and all he wore were his boxers. He blushed and pulled his sheet over his body.

"I will give you time to get yourself ready Gade, I will be back to train you in an hour. Be ready!" With that she was gone. Gade stood from his bed and went into his kitchen not surprised to see that he had nothing ediable in his cabniets or in the fridge. Cursing he left the kitchen and headed for the bathroom where he took a quick shower and made himself more presentable. He had little less then half and hour until his training and needed to eat.

He had gotten paid the night before last and had money to get something good for breakfast. His job was not something that he went around telling everyone about though. He was hired by many people who thought that their spouse or child were up to something. All that Gade had to do was get the pictures for his client and they paid him for it. The night before last he had made a good $500 for catching his clients wife kissing another man. It was not respectable work, but it was all that Gade could do.

He went to a dinner that was down the road from his apartment and ordered a nice breakfast. As he sat in his booth he looked around at the patrons. Many of them were old couples who were regulars. One person caught Gade's eye though. It was the vampire from the night before. How could he be here if he were a vampire? Vampires were supposed to be killed in the sun light. Gade sat pondering this for what seemed like an eternity, he must have been thinking for to long because his food had come and he had not noticed it.

"Are you going to eat that there love?"

"What?" Gade asked jumping from his thoughts to see the vampire sitting across from him.

"I believe that I asked you if you were going to eat your food. You don't want it to get cold, it loses it's flavor."

"Get away from me." Gade said in a low dangerous voice.

"Or what? Are you going to stake me? Right here in public in front of all these lovely people?"

Gade did not reply only stared daggers at the vampire. He did not know what to do in this situation. If the vampire attacked then Gade would have no choice but to fight back.

"You are very lovely, Gade."

"How do you know my name?" Gade spat out ignoring the part of him being lovely.

"I am not as ignorant as you think I am. You are Gade Berkley and I am Malicia. As you said last night, 'I am the vampire and you are the slayer.' We are sworn enemies, but I don't like that. I like to get to know my enemy so that when I kill them I will know that it was not a waste. So Gade, why don't we be friends? You get to know me and I get to know you, then when the time comes to kill you I will not have any regrets. The only regret that I will have is the fact that I killed someone who looks as tasty as yourself."

Gade felt a shiver pass through him, he did not like for this Malicia to hit on him, but somehow he did not want him to stop. He could not explain it. He felt an attraction to Malicai and a bond. A bond from what he could not tell. He had never met Malicia before last night, yet something was drawing him to the vampire. He had never looked at another man like this, he had never been attracted to another man, yet now he was. Shaking his head, Gade stood from the table.

"I don't want anything to do with your kind, except to kill them." With that Gade stormed from the dinner.

Malicia chose to eat his left over food and pay the tab.

"Your fianlly here, I have a lot of questions for you." Gade said as the woman appeared in front of him.

"Hold your questions Gade, your training has to start now. Any questions you have will be answered later." Gade frowned but sat down as the woman gestured for him to.

"We will start your training with information only. First I will tell you a little more about myself. I am Katherine, I am all that is good in this world. I have chosen this body as my avatar and the name. I am all around you though, everywhere that there is good I am there."

"Then why can't you take out the vampires?" Gade asked.

"I can not stain my hands with blood, for then I will lose my purity, and this world would fall into darkness. It is my job to keep the flame lite. It is your job to kill the vampires, you are the chosen one for this duty. The vampires that you are fighting are taking over everywhere. The coven consist of 500 members, and that is only the Blood Demons, they are the ones who reside in this city. There are various other covens throughout the world, but you need not worry about them. The Master Vampire resides in this city. His name is Lord Malicia, the one you tracked last night. He is the very first vampire to walk this earth. He has a soul and therefore he is the source of all evil. He knew what he was doing to everyone he killed. He created more vampires, though they are souless. He is alive, yet he is dead. He died in the early ages of this world, but he did not stay there. Instead he came back with his soul intact and became a creature of the darkness. No one can explain how he became a vampire, but he did. He has lived for thousands of years. No weapon that you posses can kill this fiend. Not even the sun will mar his skin. The only known weapon to kill Malicai is the Sword of Light. It is made from his on flesh. No one knows where the sword is or how to find it. The sword is searching for you though Gade. It is searching for the one who can kill Malicia. When the time is right it will find you and you will finish off Malicia for good. Once Malicia is gone then all the other vampires will be gone as well. Malicai is your target. He is your enemy. I want you to fear him, Gade. Without fear you can not win the battle. If you can look into his eyes and not fear him then you shall fail. Fear is the key to ending this darkness that consumes this world. Remember that.

"What am I supposed to do if other vampires get in my way?"

"You are to slay the vampires. All that get in your way. The more you slay the more powerful you will get and then the Sword of Light will come to you. It will take time, yes, but you have to be prepared for the battle ahead. Malicia will not be an easy foe, but with your training I now you can win. I want you to practice every night and every day of using your stake. You already know how to defend yourself, so you will not need help there. Tomorrow I will train you how to use moves against the undead. You have super speed now, so if it comes to it then run. Tonight I want you to go and slay a few vampires. Do not track more then one at a time, if you get into any trouble then I will help you. Do you understand Gade?"

"I think so."

"There is no I think so, you will slay at least five vampires tonight. I wish not to come to your aid, so please do not let me down. Show me what you got, don't give up to them."

"What about Malicia? What if he tries to kill me?"

"Malicia has taken a liking to you, he is not a threat as of yet. He wants to observe you first, as long as you do not try and endanger his life he will not endanger yours. Farewell now Gade, remember to fear your enemy, and I will be watching."

The cold night air once again made it's way into the city causing most citizens to turn to their homes for warmth. It was a cloudy night with thunder in the distance rumbling through the skies. Malicia had rested that day and had just awoken to find Aiden standing in his room watching him.

"What do you want Aiden?" Malicai asked as he stood from his large bed with nothing covering his body from the young vampire.

Aiden blushed but could not look away. "I was sent to wake you, but you woke on your own."

"There is no need to lie to me young one." Malicia said as he suddenly stood in front of Aiden. They were so close that Aiden could feel Malicia's breath on his face. "There is no shame in liking what you see either." Malicia stated moving his hand to Aiden's face. "Their is shame though in lying about your true intentions."

"Umm...I'm sorry my lord." Aiden breathed out barley able to speak.

"Do you want me young one? Is the passion of the vampire getting to you? Is that what this is all about, or do you simply have a crush on me?"

"Umm, umm."

"It is as I thought, all of the above." Malicia said leaning in further to Aiden, he was an inch away from his lips when he suddenly pulled back in pain. He screamed and fell back to the ground holding his heart. Aiden panicked and opened the door screaming for help. Soon there were at least twenty vampires in the room all surrounding their Lord. Malicia had stopped screaming and now was just laying on the floor looking up at the celing.

"My Lord? Please say something." One of the men said with fright written all over his face. Before anyone could say another thing a young female vampire ran into the room. "I have horrible news. A vampire has been slain." Everyone turned their attention to her and all started talking at the same time. How had a vampire been slain? Were the rumors true of the so-called-slayer?

"That is what is wrong with Lord Malicia." Aiden said seeing everyone turn their attention to him. "This is the first slaying of a vampire, ever. Malicia felt their pain and is in a comatose state. He will be like that for at least the rest of the night."

"How do you know this?"

"He told me that if a vampire was ever killed then this would happen. Do not worry though, he will be fine."

"What if another vampire is to be slain? Will this happen again?"

"No, it is only the first one to fall."

"I am in charge for the time then." Lord Kelsen stated, he was the first victim to fall prey to Malicia and was therfore the second oldest member in the coven. "If there is a slayer out there, then we need to find him and make sure that he never slays again. I want all of you to go out and search for him. You will stay in groups of three. Aiden you stay here with Lord Mailcai and inform me if he awakens."

Aiden knodded his head watching as everyone left to get suited for their misson.

With a lot of effort Aiden had laid the still body of Malicia on to his bed. Aiden was the newest memember to the coven and had taken an instant liking to Lord Malicia. He had agreed to go on a date with the vampire lord, though he was unaware at the time that by the end of the night he would be a vampire. He had heard from other vampires that Malicia liked to have 'play toys' as he called them. There were only a few, but their job was to please him when they were called upon. Aiden was jealous of their jobs, and wanted to be one as well. He had hoped to accomplish that tonight, but he did not.

Gade awoke during the middle of the afternoon the next day. He had completed his task the night before and slayed five vampires as he was told to do. The work was not as easy as he thought it would be. The first put up quite a fight, but in the end Gade won. He was out till the early hours of the morning, and had not intended on waking up for quite some time. The only reason he did awaken was because of the feeling that he was being watched. As he snapped his eyes open he could feel the intense stare even more. Quickly sitting up in his bed he saw nothing. He knew though that he was being watched and did not let his guard down. "Who's there?" He asked standing from his bed.

"It is I Malicai." Gade looked around to see where the voice had come from but still did not see Malicia.

"Show yourself."

"Why would I do that? It would ruin all the fun. I can smell your fear you know. It is dripping from you like water. Do you actually think that I am going to kill you Gade?"

Gade said nothing, he kept his eyes fixed for any movement, but still there was nothing. He suddnenly felt an arm wrap around his wait and mouth. He tried screaming, but of course the hand blocked it.

"Shush now Gade, I am not going to hurt you." Malicia said apperaing behind Gade still holding him close to his body.

"You put me in a lot of pain last night. I did not think you had it in you to kill a vampire. How wrong I was. Five of my loyal men and women killed by your hands. I must say that I admire your work. The way you tracked them and killed them was that of skill. Not even I could do betther then that. Perhaps you could teach me? What do you think?" Malicai removed his hand from Gade's mouth and moved it instead to hold his arms behind his back.

"You don't have what it takes to learn my skills." Gade spit out in a rush of fear and anger.

"Oh that is where you are wrong, I can learn anything that I want. Has anyone told you Gade what a delctiable neck you have?" Malicai asked moving his mouth to Gade's neck. Gade sucked in a breath as he felt Malicai's mouth start to suck on the pulse in his neck. He tried to move, but he was frozen in Malicai's grip. He screamed as Malicai's sank his teeth into his neck. Soon though the pain was gone, and Gade had to stop himself from moaning in pleasure.

"You taste very good." Malicai said licking the wound on Gade's neck.

"Let me go." Gade yelled kicking the air around him.

"As you wish." Malicai said releasing Gade who immediatly put his hand to his neck to hold his wound.

"What did you do to me?"

"I bit you."

"No shit, I don't want to be one of you."

"Oh do not worry Gade, I do not want you to be either. That was simply a love bite. If I were to turn you into a vampire the world would be boring again. I like having someone to compete against."

"What are you talking about?"

"The more vampires you slay the more humans I must kill. I can't let you win the competiton now can I. So when do you want to start tonight?"

"We are not competeing. Those are human life's you are taking."

"And those are vampire lifes you are taking. What is the difference? I want to play a game Gade."

"No."

"Oh but on the contrary your answer is yes. You will have to compete against me, otherwise I will kill you now."

"What?"

"You heard me, I have the power to. You would not be able to do anything." Malicai said as he grabbed Gade's neck with both hands. "It is either competing againt me, or I will break your beautiful neck right now."

"Fine fine, you win, just let me go." Once again Malicai released Gade.

"That is what I thought. You value your life over those of the innocent. I like that Gade. Now the competition is to see who can kill more tonight. If you are able to kill more vampires tonight then I am able to kill of humans then I will leave you alone and you can go about your happy buisness of killing my coven. If you lose though, you are to come to my mansion for one night and have a great dinner, and afterwards be one of my play toys."

"Play toys? What the hell are you talking about?"

"You will see if you lose."

"How will I know how many people you kill?"

"Just like with me, you will know when I kill. We will fight till dawn, after that it is over. I will see you tonight Gade." Malicai said pressing his lips against Gade's in a chaste kiss.
