Let Me Be

I dedicate this poem to those who wish to 'save me'

I believe what you believe

I am no trator

but still you hunt me

Though you are unaware

Your not helping

Your pushing me away

I refuse to believe

That any religion permits this

You are not bad people

You do the world nothing but good

But you must understand

We do not share a mind

You cannot take my freedom

Nor my sense of well being

Please understand

I cannot do as you do

When i reject you

Why do you shame me so?

I merely wish to live

So dear God let me be

I do not aspire

To be like you

I am happy with my life

I will reject your persecution

I wonder what you hide

Behind that smile

Probably nothing

And thats what scares me the most

Go brainwash someone else

I am one of you

But i cannot do as you do

For all intentive purposes

Please stay away from me

let me live!

If youve ever been asked "have you found god yet?"

then you know who i mean and what i mean.
