Refused

Farewell my fallen idol,
My dark angel of my dreams.
Darkness falls around me,
And nothing's what it seems.

You haunt me in my winter chills,
You seek me in the fall,
You throw me on the summer grass,
But was never there at all.

Sometimes I thought if I waited,
Then maybe you'd appear.
You'd open your arms and call to me,
And save me from my tears.

Yet you denied me love's embrace.
You had pushed me to the side.
Do you not see that I adore you?
Must I back away and hide?

Will you not find me in the forest?
Will you not free me from my prison?
Will you not save me from my anger?
Before my life is done?

No, you will not even try,
For that is not your way,
I suffer from your selfishness,
And curse the mirthful day.

You left me here dejected,
Despondent on the floor,
I had truly thought I loved you,
But do not anymore.
