Its In The Heart That I Belong
It was my first time,
I guess I should have known,
Dating was really just for fun then.
That’s what you believe,
A thought I can’t conceive,
And you may call me old fashioned.
But,
How can you think,
That I was here just for games,
Or that I,
Wasn’t being sincere.
I’d never take this,
As some silly childhood game,
‘Cause life’s just to short,
To keep your heart locked up.
Round two came up,
A new guy with a warm smile,
And a hug that made me feel so secure.
We could lye for hours,
Never speaking,
And just stare at the sky.
It’s just that,
In the silence,
I had missed what you felt.
And how,
Can you think,
That I was here just for games,
Or that I,
Wasn’t being sincere.
I’d never take this,
As some silly childhood game.
Another guy,
Had come,
Lookin’ for me in the bed,
Instead of looking,
In the only place I could be found.
Round three appeared,
I thought we’d hit it off,
Even though things were all just the same.
The silent talks,
With great warm hugs,
And reassuring love.
Then you turn just like them,
And peer into your bed,
And expect me to be there.
But,
How can you think,
That I’m here just for games,
Or that I,
Will just appear in your bed.
Just like everyone else,
You’re looking for me in the bed,
Instead of looking there in your heart.
