We’ve overcome most racism

People are treated fair

But underneath that loving current

Discrimination it’s still there

No longer based on gender

It’s not usually about race

It’s something much more subtle

Something not on a person’s face

It’s homophobia, now

That I talk about

Such a tense issue

That people tend to shout

People feel so strongly

Funerals they will picket

Fortunately sensible people will

Tell them where to stick it

Hatred or ignorance

There is almost nothing but

It looks to me like society

Is stuck inside a rut

We’ve taken so many steps

Towards equality

If we stop the fight now

Stuck here we’ll always be

A/N: I am not attempting to say that racism and sexism don’t exist, I know they do, I am saying that homophobia is debatably much more common.
