History of the Realms
Translated From High Elven by:

------
In the beginning there was life and death. The twin goddesses Kalayne and Lorayna sought to make more. It was then that a neutral god named Teirraim found the sisters. Teirraim brought magic and a forge to the empty cosmos. It was then that the sisters knew what had to happen. Lorayna dedicated herself to light, life and all that is good, whilst her sister took the opposite and darker path. Together the three combined their powers, blood, sweat, and tears to create red crystal, which Teirraim called a forge crystal. With the crystal Teirraim was able to start the divine forge. He forged an fully populated world in the cosmos of stars and satellites. The divine beings gave the world a name, Iryntel, and it’s two satellites were named Lyros and Kyrahs.
Iryntel was forged completely with races, monsters, and the holy dragons. The elves, parishioners of magic, healing, and prayer followed Lorayna until Aien was born. Aien is the son of Lorayna and Teirraim, and the elves sought to become just like him. Dwarves and Gnomes, both being earthly races, followed Teirraim without question. The dark races pledged their souls to Kalayne, who gladly accepted them. The humans, being short lived, did not chose a single divine spirit to follow but chose to follow whomever the wished. As more and more Gods arrived to govern the small orb the humans had more to chose from.
For the first one hundred years or so of Iryntel’s history, there were few wars, fewer conflicts, and a general acceptance of Balance. The twin goddesses were pleased, for even though they were on opposite sides they both abhorred violence. They paid close attention to what was happening on their small planet.
Other gods, Irisaiah for instance, would become more and more chaotic as the world progressed. He tried many times to cause a major war between the races. Kiriash, though fond of Irisaiah, found his actions to bother her. She approached Teirraim with a simple request. She asked for a charm that would prevent a major war for one hundred and fifty years. When Teirraim asked why that many years, Kiriash said she foresaw the need for a war at the end of the set time period, she saw the balance dissolving. She walked away before Teirraim could ask any more questions.
Teirraim took his news to his consort, Lorayna, who then sought out Kiriash. Unable to find the goddess of the seers, Lorayna took human form and sought out seers amongst the races of the world. She founded the first library on the small island of Alchirac and caused there to be an order of scribes who would take down every vision and prophecy that a seer gave the world. These scribes would later become the Divine Order of Lorayna. The Order were the founders of the High Sorcery Council.
Lorayna and Kalayne noticed that few magi were born to the world. The twins also noticed that the holy dragons tended to mate with the humans and elves of Iryntel. Two in particular took their notice. Lethelinal, a shadow dragoness, who fell deeply in love with the chief of a small village named Andrake. It was Lethelinal who would help Andrake become a great Port City. The other dragon was Firanak, a blaze dragon who recklessly mated with a frail human woman. His line would later migrate to Dragons Egg Isle, and remain under the rule of the High Mages.
Eventually it became known to the elves that the gods were not listening to every prayer they made. The elders of the elves sought out the reason why, and sent out a young maiden named Terraset. Terraset was changed into something that the elves saw as truly evil, even if she became neutral in all things. For she had been changed into a were-tiger, and to the elves, that meant she became evil. Since then her line, recognizable by the -set suffix, were all born as natural lycanthropes, all doomed to take the form of a tiger for the three days and nights of the full moon.
As the years passed, Lorayna, Kalayne, and Teirraim found that the prophecy set by Kiriash, was coming true. Lorayna and Kalayne promised that no matter what they would together stand against Irisaiah and his minions. To stop him from gaining more power they sealed him away for fifty years. They knew that the short amount of time would be no more than the blink of an eye to any of the divine beings.

A note from Scout:…
It has been noticed that the rest of this document has been lost to the ages. Few of the elder elves even remember it. I rescued as much of this as I could. It is known to the elders and the Sorcerers of Alchirac that the one hundred and fifty years of Kiriash’s Mercy is coming to an end. I only hope that Lady Gracelinn has the time to read this volume. We have estimated the time to be for one more year. We have that time to gather the forces of the light, and start to fight back.
