- Midnight Observer -
She sits, chin on knee as the wind blows her hair
Black midnight surrounds the city
As she watches from above
Soft sounds of distant traffic below
Complete the calming feeling of night;
She stretches and grabs a pen -
Ready to record her revelations
Watching the twinking lights of the city
From such a great height
Seeing far beyond the darkness
Unearthing the depths in between
Singing unto the night,
Her voice rings clear
The city relents its movements-
Lulled into submission
An antiquated lullaby
Sung to unknowing sleepers
Searches the depths
And finds comfort on the stars
