The stars were out, but the electricity was burning

Climbing up the stairs, wondering who I would find

Turned the corner to see him lounging there

We said our hellos, already dreading goodbyes

He smiled at me, something we have to hide.

Hanging around, having a ball

We got scolded by the law and it’s all my fault

I storm away, fear in my eyes

They ask if I’m fine, they know it’s a lie

If only that wall was a dark whole two feet wide.

They stop me in my stride

Try to save the lasting pride

I was running in haste, nothing left to loose

Then his arm is around my waist

The pain’s washed away, but there’s a new bruise.
