I want to show you who I am,

But I’m not sure if I can.

All this time, I’ve been hiding in a shell,

Though truthfully it’s been hell.

My life has been a play;

Someone else writes all that I say.

I want to show you the real me –

The person I’ve not let anyone else see.

Until now, I’ve hid myself away –

Full of doubt and fear of what others might say.

No one I know is quite like you,

But how am I supposed to know what you’ll do

Once you see the real me?

Cause to be truthful I’m not even sure who that might be.

I hope you’ll accept me, if you can.

If not, oh well, cause here I am.
