Havock: Part Three

“They stuck a knife into me.”

Lily nearly cried at the scene unfolding in front of her, with her three best friends on the verge of execution at the hands of the inhuman Tormentors. On the left, Tara was absolutely petrified and looked like she was at a point far beyond screaming. On the right, Kyle looked strangely defiant and almost calm, but his deep blue eyes betrayed his cool demeanor; he too was scared to death. In the middle of them was Lily’s suicidal friend Jenny, who looked almost excited about this whole business.

“Do we need to repeat our order to you?” the one holding Tara said grimly. “Pick the one that lives.”

“Or we’ll kill all three of them and make sure that you watch,” the one clutching Kyle’s hair chuckled.

“Please don’t answer,” the third said, and all three of the Tormentors laughed.

“Kill…kill…” she couldn’t say it. “Help me, Lord,” she whispered.

“Kill Jenny first,” Lily said, hoping desperately that she had made the right first choice.

Jenny’s eyes started to get bigger, but they stopped abruptly as her Tormentor neatly decapitated her.

“Next, please.”

(oh hurry up lily. stop being so squeamish)

“Oh, I don’t know…” she said. “I don’t know!”

“Then we shall kill both of them,” the one who had beheaded Jenny said quietly, with a hint of longing in its harsh voice.

“No!” she cried. “Why me?” she asked the Tormentors.

“We were ordered to come here and ask you which one of your friends was to live,” one of them explained. “Hurry up already. We are becoming very impatient.”

She didn’t look at either one of her remaining friends. “Tara next.”

Tara started to scream, but her high pitched note was cut off quickly. It hung eerily in the night air.

The Tormentors released Kyle, and he fell into Lily’s arms.

“Goodnight,” they laughed, and then ran off.

“Lily,” he gasped desperately. “They stuck a knife into…me…” His eyes became oddly unfocused, and his head drooped down sickeningly.

“No, no…” she said, uncomprehending. As she set Kyle’s body down onto her porch, she saw that her hands were covered with blood.

(ha, that’s funny. because she has blood on her hands, you know? hahaha)

Lily stood up and looked at the small massacre.

And then she cried bitter tears.
