Let Me Rest

I killed too many men to count

The women too

And the occasional child.

I gutted them,

Strung them up on my strings,

Too see what their kind of hate brings.

But I want to rest now,

Can I rest?

But closing my eyes is so hard

They’re there all the time,

Looking on.

And the beating in my heart,

Will continue long after theirs is gone,

What kind of monster buries their children?

But I just want to rest,

Can I rest?

Not today or tonight,

Not by dark or by light,

Not by sun or by night,

Cause I’ve brought too much fright.

Let me rest!

Here I am,

Splayed out on my cross

I guess its all in the toss

I NEED TO REST!

Damn you to hell!

I’m already there

To dead to care.

Can’t sleep, can’t eat, can’t kill any more

I

Just

Want

To

Rest
