Hi! Please give this story a chance! This is my first story in first person and I hope you'll like it! Anyway, I'd just like to tell you guys that the setting is in Philippines, 'kay? But the language is still in English. Oh, please give it a chance!

The First Meeting

Hi, I'm Hanellaire but you can call me Hana and that's what everyone calls me. I'm in 2nd year high school now. I have a sister who goes by the name of Reinelle but is commonly called as Rei and is a 3rd year high school student.

My sister and I are heartthrobs in school. But I'm not a girly girl. I'm sporty, a dancer and my grades are outstanding. It's one of my dreams to be a valedictorian y'know. I love basketball, soccer, volleyball and badminton. This is turning into a profile isn't it? Anyway, I'm a very lazy person in spite all of those. People say I'm understanding, sometimes carefree and wise. I'm very approachable too when it comes to advises.

My sister, Rei, is very intelligent and nice. But she's a bit of a player though. She managed to get five boy friends in only a year. And she was only thirteen then. But she's really nice and a good dancer too.

Since I was a bit boyish, I didn't expect to fall in love. I thought I never will but I suppose it can't be helped because I totally fell for this guy. But since there'll be many consequences if I tell him, I kept my feelings to myself.

I first saw the guy when I was a gr. 6 pupil and my sister was first year. She met him then when he was new in their batch.

FLASHBACK

"Hey Hana! Have you heard about the gorgeous new student in our batch?" my sister asked me excitedly. "He is so hot! It was only in his first day and he's been labeled as an official heartthrob!"

"Really?" I asked with fake enthusiasm. I'm not really into such conversations but since it's my sister... "So what's the name of the 'new hot' guy?"

"His name is JC" She had a big smile on her face. "He's really cute!" her smile faded a bit. "Bad news is, rumor has it that he's not interested in girls. But he's not gay either."

I smirked, "Then it seems you can't have him as a boy friend, now, can you?"

She rolled her eyes at me and sighed, "I have no plan on playing with the guy anyway. I'm only interested in becoming his best friend. My cousin told me that he's a really nice friend so I wanted to, you know, have him as a best friend!"

I looked at my sister disbelievingly, "Really?" then I smiled. "Well, good luck to you. That means you can have another best friend right?"

"Yeah, I know. It'll be so exciting! I'll make friends with him tomorrow!"

I nodded and turned away. I was really not interested in conversations about boys. So I didn't really care.

The next day, Rei did ask the guy to become her best friend and she's still working on to become best friends. After two months, they were officially best friends. They hanged out together, ate together, and such.

One day, my sister was given a really big project. It was to be finished by groups and she was given the privilege to choose who her group mates will be. She had asked her friends Theodore, Michaela, Layla and of course, JC.

They arrived in our house to start the project. It was then when I saw JC for the very first time.

He was really handsome, I must admit. Even I, a boy-hater, found him... well, hot. He had spiked honey brown hair and dark blue eyes. He was muscular too and... uh, hehe, sexy.

We stared at each other for a while, eyes to eyes. Our eyes locked and couldn't seem to pull away. My hear beat so fast then that I thought everyone can hear it. I felt as if I was drowning in his eyes and my knees weakened.

"Hey, JC!" I heard Rei call.

He turned to look at Rei, a bit startled. He seemed to have halted his work when he stared at me and Rei was getting irritated with impatience. It was then when she noticed that I was actually there and JC had been staring at me. She smiled.

"Oh? You two haven't met, have you? JC, this is Hana, my little sister," she introduced us.

JC turned to me again and smiled, but I can see that he tried to avoid my eyes, "Hi Hana."

I smiled at him and when he looked at me, I thought I saw him blush... or was it my imagination? Oh well.

"Hi JC." I said, "So you're my sister's best friend."

"Ah..." he looked away, "Yes."

"Alright then. I'm just going to get something and I'll leave you guys to your work."

I took what I came down there for and went straight back to my room. I quickly closed the door, and leaned against it. Boy, it was really hard to remain calm around someone as hot as him. My heart beat faster than usual and my face was all red. I haven't had a reaction to a boy like that before and this was completely foreign.

Since our first encounter, I learned more about the guy. He seems to be good in basketball and soccer, gaining more heartthrob points. And he sings really well too. If I'd judge his singing voice, I'd say he'd do good to join the American Idol.

We talked a lot too and hanged out together. We became best friends too, together with my sister. But not in school, though. He's all busy. Me, because I'll be graduating, and him because he's still adjusting to his new school. We don't hang out much in school. It's like we aren't bests in school at all. But I didn't mind.

END OF FLASHBACK

Now I'm second year high school and the three of us are all best friends. We've been close for two years. Of course, I have my own friends in school, but nevertheless, we're still best friends.

That is, until this school year, everything changed...
