Note: Zeb, Ryan, Jonas, Christian and most of these characters do not belong to me, they rightfully belong to Marth Azumi. Go read his stuff, it pwns all. 3

Konoka sat on the front porch of her house. It was a large house, looking fairly run down. This was almost a homeless house, for people who couldn’t afford homes or didn’t have anyone to turn to. A problem home. Konoka just had quite a few more problems for her young age. Being adopted by two vampires, Fox and Zeb, She never knew her real parents. She saw them in pictures, smiling together, their arms wrapped tightly around each other and their eyes shining with happiness and hope. How that was torn apart, she doesn’t know. She sighed, taking a drag from her cigarette. She got a lot of nagging from her ‘family’ for smoking, at only 15. She didn’t care, she didn’t care about anything. She was already dropped out of school, and hell, she’d been laid many times before. A few pregnant scares as well, but that really didn’t stop her.

They say she was as beautiful as her mother was. Shining hair and eyes, the eyes were her favorite feature of herself. Konoka’s eyes were brilliant green, a trait from her mother. Her personality was that of her father, more laid back than her mother, but could become wild. At times she is mistaken for Bipolar, the scars on her arms and the holes in her walls could prove that, and the time’s she’s cried until her eyes stung, though she let no one see her. She also has her father’s hair, brown. Beautiful shade of it too, flowing down to her waist.

She sighed, rising to her feet and walking into the door. Upon opening the door, there was a large living room, with two people sitting on the couch. A boy, Kenzo, about in his…late 20’s early 30’s with his Girl, Naoki. Kenzo had brown hair as well, and nice features. He was one of, in Konoka’s opinion, one of the nicer people of this house. Naoki was blind since Konoka could remember, and to be honest she was blinded when She was a little girl. Naoki had brown hair as well, her eyes a dull reddish brown, a very beautiful color, except it was dull from the lack of use. Konoka walked up to them, the two snuggling on the couch. She smiled, kissing Kenzo and Naoki on the cheek.

“Good afternoon, Kenz, Naoki.” She said with a smile. She didn’t know why she kissed people on the cheek as a greeting, but they didn’t mind.

“Morning, Kono.” Kenzo replied, nodding. Naoki gently placed her hand onto Konoka’s cheek. “Morning, Kono..” She said softly. Konoka placed her hand on Naoki’s. She couldn’t help it, around Naoki she got soft, not something she does often. She placed her hand on Naoki’s and smiled, speaking softly.

“How are you today?” Konoka knelt down by them.

“Oh, I’m doing quite well…” Naoki inhaled deeply. “Smoking again, Konoka?” Konoka frowned, and pulled away. “I got to get going, talk to you guys later…” Naoki frowned, and waved. “Later, Kono.”

Konoka stood outside on the patio, fiddling with the lighter in the pocket of her jeans. She turned around when she heard the door open. She blinked, looking into the eyes of Jonas. His emerald green eyes almost over-powering hers. His sandy blonde hair hanging lightly over his forehead.

“Uh, Jonas…Hey…” She said with a slight smile. Jonas nodded.

“Kono, can I talk to you?” He asked in his usual quiet voice. She wasn’t sure why he was like this, but she didn’t mind. She loved him like a father and she felt as if she could always turn to him if he needed help.

“Sure, of course.” She replied, sitting on the swing to the right of the porch. Jonas sat beside her.

“We’re all worried about you. You’ve been out of school too long, and you’ve started smoking again…” Konoka looked down.

“You asked if you could talk to me, I didn’t ask for a moral..”

“Konoka, please. We all can see where you are going, and for god sakes we don’t want you ending up like your father!” He almost snapped. Konoka was a bit taken back by his outburst, but figured he was right. She was turning into her father.

“I…I know…”

“You know? Then do something about it.” Jonas rose, looking down at her. “We all care about you, Konoka, and we don’t want you to make the same mistakes your parents made…” He said as he looked back down at the ground, walking away.

“Jonas! No, Wait!” She pleaded, rising to her feet as well. “I don’t know what to do!” Jonas turned and glared at her, his gaze nearly burning a hole through her flesh.

“You do, you just need to figure out how to do it…” he continued walking away. Konoka sighed. She had to go talk to someone, someone who understood what she was going through. She walked back into the house, grabbing a ring of keys. She looked around, then went into the garage, getting into Rei’s car quietly. She turned it on, backing out of the driveway, taking a left. After a while of driving, she took a right, and followed that road for a bit. She kept the radio off, not wanting to get attention drawn to herself, an under-aged driver. She pulled into the gloomy parking lot of the jail. Walking inside, Konoka approached the woman at the desk. The woman was very petite, light blonde hair hanging to her chin. She had dull blue eyes, though they were filled with happiness.

“Um, Yes, Hello? I’d like to visit a relative.”

“Oh, yes, your Konoka, aren’t you? Very common visitor. You’re here to see…Christian Locke, right?” Konoka nodded. “Alright, Just wait here and we’ll come get you.” Konoka nodded once more, and took a seat in a chair. After a moment, the woman nodded to her. Konoka walked into the every-familiar room and sat at the chair, picking up the phone. She smiled at her uncle’s familiar face. He had gentle blue eyes, and brown hair with blonde streaks, a similar look to his brothers, her father. His skin was pretty fair as well, a trait he too got from his older brother.

“Hey, Kiddo.” He said, his voice rough from being in prison. It was said when Christian was younger, he had a fairly nice voice.

“Hey…How’s it going?” She asked softly, her other hand gently stroking the receiver of the phone.

“Its going good, good…” Christian replied. “Any reason why you’re here?” He asked with a concerned look in his eyes. Konoka shook her head, then after hesitating, nodded.

“Yes…Everyone’s coming down on me, throwing out insults about Dad…’your becoming like him, we don’t want that, stop!’ they say to me…I’m sick of it, Christian!” She said, tears welling up in her eyes. Christian was one of the only people she knew that had gotten out of that house successfully, but he wound up in jail. “When you get out, I want to move in with you!” She practically pleaded into the receiver. Christian looked at her with a grim expression.

“Konoka, you cant’ live with me…”

“Why?!” She pleaded again. He was only four years older than her, so they got along fairly well. He gently put his hand on the glass between them.

“Because, Kono..” His eyes softened. “I wouldn’t be able to help you…Stay there, please…I don’t what you to end up like me, or…Ryan…”

Konoka’s eyes softened as well. “I won’t, I’m sick of hearing it. Please..”

“Konoka, no..”

“Christi-”

“NO!” he shouted, then hung up the phone. Konoka stared in disbelief as her uncle walked away from her. “No…” Tears welling up in her eyes, Konoka left. She got into her car, and drove back home. She, luckily, got the car and keys back before anyone even noticed. Konoka went into her room, sitting on the bed with a sigh. Hearing a light tap on the window, Konoka looked up. She couldn’t help but smile, the sweet face of her boyfriend smiling in at her. She opened the window, and he crawled in, almost immediately wrapping his arms around her. That’s what she loved about him, he always knew when she was in a bad mood, and how to cheer her up. To her, he was perfect in every way. He had the most beautiful brown eyes she had ever seen, and she loved the way his light red roots contrasted against his black hair. He had very pale skin as well, a trait she admired, and had herself. She smiled, wrapping her arms around his neck.

“When are you going to take me away?” Konoka moaned as they held each other tightly, gently rocking back and forth. Bryan was about 17, 2 years older than herself, and he already had an apartment.

“Soon enough, My love…” he whispered into her ear, gently nibbling on her ear lobe. “Soon, I’ll take you away from here…”

“Good…” Konoka said, falling back on her bed, taking Bryan with her. “I’ve been bored all day…” She said tauntingly. “Why don’t you entertain me a bit?” Konoka smirked.

“I thought you’d never suggest that…” Bryan smiled widely, kissing her passionately. Just then, there was a sharp knock at the door, and the door clicked open. Konoka and Bryan looked at the door, and there stood Fox. Konoka turned red, pushing Bryan off her. “Mom! What are you doing?!” She snapped at Fox.

“Konoka! What were you two doing?!” She snapped back, her ears pinning back slightly with a bit of protective anger. “Who’s He?!” She pointed at Bryan.

“My boyfriend, and weather you like it or not, FOX, I’m leaving!” Konoka snapped.

“You wouldn’t dare!” Fox shot back, and just then, Zeb walked by.

“Hey, I heard yelling…” He said coldly, looking around. Spotting Bryan, he pointed. “Who’s he?”
“Your daughter’s boyfriend…” Fox replied.

“I’m not your daughter!” Konoka shouted, taking a step forward, her bipolar habits taking control. She brought her hand up, ready to strike fox for what she had said. Zeb got in the way, tightly grabbing onto Konoka’s wrist.

“What is it you think you are doing?!” He snapped, glaring daggers into her eyes. “Well?!”

“Let me go! I’m not your daughter, I’m Ryan and Kaykuyo’s daughter! You can’t tell me what to do!” Konoka struggled to escape.

“Listen to me, Konoka…” Fox said soothingly. “We just care about you, Please listen to us…”

“No! You’ve told me nothing but lies for 13 years!” Konoka had been told that she was biologically Fox and Zeb's child, until 2 years ago she stumbled across the pictures of Kaykuyo and Ryan. Fox stared in awe at Konoka, who simply glared coldly. With watering eyes, Fox replied.

“I-it was for the best, Kono! I just wanted you to be happy!”
“You think I’m happy?!” Konoka snapped. “You think that this is the life I wanted?!”
“That’s enough!” Zeb growled at Konoka. “Show us some respect, we’re your parents, Not biological, but we fucking raised you!” Konoka turned her glare towards Zeb. The sight of it almost made him reel back, he could have sworn for a second he saw Ryan, standing before him glaring. Konoka knew this, and she got angry. She pulled her wrist away, and struck him hard across the face.

I am not my goddamned father!” She shouted at him. Zeb put his hand on his red cheek, unable to do anything. He tried to will himself to strike her back, but the father in him held him back. He didn’t know what to say, so he just stood there looking at her. Fox put her hand over her mouth, shocked. Zeb growled.

“What the hell is your problem!?” He shouted back. “All we have ever done is try to make your life better, and here you are yelling at us for it?!”

“But your treating me like I’m my damned father, which I’m not!” She screamed, and hit him again. This time Zeb couldn’t hold back. He lunged forward, pinning Konoka on the ground. His demonic yellow eyes gleaming with the thirst for blood. Konoka screamed, and tried to push him away.

“Get the hell off me! Bryan! Help!” She pleaded, doing all she could to keep her so called father’s fangs away from her. Bryan acted quickly, kicking Zeb in the side off of Konoka. He grabbed Konoka, bringing her close to him as he jumped out the window. The two ran to his car, quickly getting in. Bryan put the key in the ignition, and turned on the car. After a moment, him and Konoka were driving down the street.

“No…Konoka…”
