Chapter 12 – Epilogue

Bobby stood there by the graves of his grandparents, parents, and friend. Three generations of people who had loved him and believed in him at all costs. It was cold this morning. Bobby stood their in the chill of the wee hours remembering as he stood in a favorite leather trench coat Sara had always wanted him to have, but never could afford. There was a small circler pendant she had bought for him instead to wear around his neck. She had it inscribed, ‘Fair weather friends are tossed about with the wind, but true friends are bound with love through any weather.’ Looking back, she had lived what she believed.

This time, he had lost four people who meant the world to him. This time, he wouldn’t ask for them back for anything. They were much batter off. It grieved him, not that they were gone, but the last memories he had of them before they left. Time was short and valuable. He laid a flower on each of the graves. As he turned to leave, he felt a gentle breeze blow past his face. He looked back towards the grave sites. He thought he was having trouble seeing things. It was as if his family were standing there with Sara smiling as he was on his way to leave. A tear rolled down his cheek. He turned and got into the car with Brooks. She was sweet and loaded. It was nice, because he had never been in a Lamborghini before. What was a man suppose to do? She needed a bodyguard, he needed work.
