Jason

Prolog:

Jason was thirty years old and seemed to be in perfect health. He was under a great deal of stress trying to balance his marriage and his job. If only he didn’t see her with the other man, his best friend. He trusted him, but to betray by him made it hurt even worse.

He stands alone in the hallway of the home that he had bought for her. He did everything for her, but everything wasn’t enough. Sweat oozed down the side of his ruggedly unshaven handsome face. He grabbed his shirt to feel pain beneath his breast. Thump. His heart is pulsating like it’s trying to escape from his chest. Trying to run away from the pain he had just witnessed.

He looks down at his ring to see a long forgotten promise to a woman he had loved with all of his heart that was now broken. His eyes lock straight a head needing help. He falls to his knees gasping for breath as everything fades into black.

Chapter 1

His stone gray eyes flicker open blinking back a blinding white light above him. Am I dead? He wonders. He hears a beeping sound near him and realizes he wasn't dead, but in a hospital bed with man wires attached to his chest.

"Mr. Livingston? Can you hear me?" Asked a tall blonde woman who was dressed in blue nurse scrubs. She had a clip board in her right hand and was leaning over Jason. He nodded. "I'll get the doctor."

The nurse rushed out of the room and brought in a woman in green scrubs with a white coat. She was young black woman who had to be in her late twenties. Her tired brown eyes looked down at Jason’s chart, as she looked up some of her curly black hair fell out of the bun falling in front of her eyes. "Ah, Mr. Livingston," She said with warming smile. "I am Doctor Jones, I am the attending who worked on you when you came in to the ER late last night."

"Last night," Jason began, but quickly remembered. Sadness quickly filled his eyes.

"Your wife is out in the hall,'' Dr. Jones told him.”She was the one who called 9.1.1 and came with you in the ER. Would you like to see her?"

"No," He answered coldly.

“Fine, but what I am about to tell you Mr. Livingston might be hard to take in you might want you wife in here to help you," The Dr. Jones warned.

"No. I will be fine,"

"You suffered a massive heart attack Mr. Livingston. You were brought into the ER flat lining. We revived you and stabilized your heart rhythm. The cause for you Heart attack is still unknown I waiting on your labs to come back at anytime, until…….”

“Jason!” Yelled the voice of his wife Marcy cutting off Dr. Jones. She ran into the room dressed in a blue dress and matching high heals. Her short blond hair was styled with out a hair of place and her make up was done up like beauty queen. She wrapping her arms around his neck in a loving hug, but he didn‘t hug her back. “Honey I am so happy you’re alright.”

He turned his attention back to the doctor hoping that she would make his wife go way. “I will go check on you test,” Doctor Jones said leaving the room leaving the two alone.

“Get off of me,” He said coldly.

“Why?”

“I don’t want your filthy hands touching me,” He answered pushing her off of him.

Tears started too well up in her small hazel eyes. Ether from true worry, or guilt he didn’t know, nor did he care. “What’s wrong Jason? Did………”

“You did do something wrong,” He interrupted. His face was emotionless as he went on. “I know what you did! With my best friend Too! How long has this being happening?”

“Two months.”

“Two,” The words slipped out of his mouth in surprise. “I don’t want to see your cheating face again! You, you whore!”

“But…”

“There are no buts for what I saw with my two eyes Marcy!” He said. “Go!”

Marcy’s lower lip quivered in shock. She turned and ran out of the room sobbing with her high heal clicking behind her.
