This winter night sees snow fall fast upon the eaves.
It blankets all the ground and what remains of leaves.
The girl peers out her window at the falling snow;
She thinks she understands what only she can know
That truth exists for her at once when she believes.

The snowflakes fall at speeds resembling fleeing thieves.
The girl's new faith is tested by the snow she grieves;
The magic she desires comes when snow is slow
This winter night.

The girl can keep the magic spell that she now weaves
Where rather soft is snow's sweet comfort she receives.
She fails to see her truth is just a lie aglow
The dashing snow convinced her this belief was so.
But truth is always truth against what she perceives
This winter night.
