Last moments

When your hands are trembling

And your mind is blank

All you can think of

Are your unforgiving regrets

You never saw it coming

It approached at great velocity

Life in a single moment

Shattered in fire and sound

Why is that we never think

That for once we are not immortals?

When your time is upon you

Who will you think of…and why?

Who knew the driver…?

Why didn’t he stop?

And does he live or die at this moment?

Lost in a thought

For a single moment

And an innocent has been taken

It wasn’t his fault

When the wreckage of the moment had passed

And all that remained were tears

Where was the my immortal –

Lost in the fury of death

I never would have seen it coming…

But then again who ever would?

That all time and space are worthless

When the candle is snuffed

But a candle will light again

But a man will not

Or maybe he will

Not in this life….
