Loving Thoughts

Left alone, alone with my thoughts
Shouldn’t have left you
But in my right mind…
I had no choice

It needed time to heal
My heart was too weak
And I never thought
It would have survived thus far

I knew not of what you said
But I could tell
You may have only been thinking
But it was undeniably clear

I know you left me far behind
But here I just cannot stay
Because I fear my thought shall consume me
Just as you had once done

No matter what I say
You will not understand
My love is eternal
And after you I will surely perish

For the only reason I live
Resides in your entirety
And when that fades
So shall the light in me diminish

Not to be false
But I honestly can say
That he can never love you
And that will always ring true
