Inspired by Wuthering Heights, a poem by Linda Pastan, and the flowers themselves.

I wanted to give you
Dandelions
For they reminded me
Of you.
But they looked too
Beautiful
To touch.
A yellow carpet of sun,
They invaded the earth
Raw and savage
And so lovely.
And so I left you my gift
Wild and free
Until they at last grew gray
With age
And the wind snatched up
The unruly bouquet.
