I touch your shadow in my mind
And it’s in every corner that I find
The light that casts it is going to take more time
Until it reaches my heart.

Words like sandpaper filing away
At the truth beneath the smiling fray
You’re the predator; my love is your prey
But you’ll be hungry tonight.

Your mind is a magnet to my words
The flattery you give yourself is absurd
But without your eyes I’d be unheard
Because they hold me in their power.

The capacity of gravity expands when
I think of you holding my hand, then
The mix up of time makes it an unplanned sin
In retrospect, I’d do it again.
