Mai Lynn- Nisydes, Yari

Angelic Ambyence- Callista

---------------------------------

Callista raised the decapitated head of a vampired over her mouth, letting the blood from it's neck pour down her throat. After she had her fill, she tossed it to the side, next to it's body. She wiped her mouth with the back of her hand, which made little difference since not only was half her face covered in blood, but so were her hands. One of which was gripping her bloody sowrd.

The vampire, vampire hunter sighed and looked up at the sky with her now vivid red eyes. She had left Nisydes a while ago after waking up from a wonderful nap, craving blood. But now that she was full and re-energized from the slaying as well as the blood reward, she grew bored again.

"Hmm, I hope that guy didn't leave that dump..." Callista muttered to herself as she sheathed her sword.

A little bit after Callista left, Nisydes awoke. He turned slightly, sighing in relief when she was gone.

'Perhaps she had finally given up...' He wonders as he got off of the couch and entered the kitchen. Searching through the cabinets, he found some food that hadn't been smothered in mold and began to cook it. It was tomato soup and he did not mind. Turning on the stove, the Russian cooked his meal and looked for a bowl that could hold its contents. Upon finding none, he got a mug and poured the warm liquid into it, drinking his dinner.

"Is that all you're goind to eat? I expected a bigger meal for someone of your size." Callista said from outside. She was leaning on one of the windows, looking inside while playing with the silver device around her neck.

Nisydes glared at her, finishin his drink. Damnit, he wanted the entire meal. His stomach was starving for food though and reluctantly, he poured another glass and drank s'more. There was a pause.

"Go play vis your vomen." He sneered, "And leave me alone."

Callista blinked, "I dont play with women. I dont play with anyone, I intereact and observe. Nothing more."

She sniffed and rested her bloody chin on her hand witch was prodded up on the window ledge. "It's not like i'm hurting you."

"You are annoying." He retorted, drinking his soup. Putting the dishes into the sink, he begins to wash them, "And you vaste my time."

"I'm not doing anything, how am I wasting your time?" she replied, ignoring the insult.

"You are invading my privacy." He states flatly, glaring at her, "I do not live vis others vatching."

"Hmmm, good point..." Callista said thoughtfully. She then turned and leaned against the window with her back facing the Nisydes. "Is that better?"

Nisydes glares at her back, "Leave." He stated.

"I dont want to." Callista stubbornly replied, crosing her arms. She was too interested in this emotionless human's reactions to her actions to want to leave.

This was what puzzled the Russian more than anything. WHY did she want to stay?! With a growl, he slammed his hand onto the counter, glaring at her back.

"Vomen, I loose my patience. You vill leave, and now. You have no purpose here, you are only being annoying and a vaste of my time." He grit his teeth.

Callista turned around and looked at Nisydes staight in the eyes with intense interest but without anger or annoyance. "My name is Callista, not woman. And I've watched you all day, you do nothing. How am I wasting time that you don't use anyways?"

Inwards, is rather surprised that she's looking at him straight in the eye. Nevertheless, she was a damn annoyance as he snarled back.

"Vat I do is my own business, not some voman's game to vatch."

Callista, never taking anything personal, wasn't annoyed or insulted, but just more curious. The day previous she could barely get a word out of him, not she got him angry. It's been so long since she had been truly angry that she found it so intereting to find the emotion in others.

"I didn't say you were a game. More like television, but everyone's life is like that." Callista said with a half-grin. "You just happen to be my favorite channel."

"Zen turn it off." He reached over and slammed the window shut. If her fingers were on the ledge, then they would just be victims. If most of her body was there, then the wood would have just collided with her as Nisydes turned, cup of soup in his hand and went into the living room to finish his meal on the couch.

Callista drew back her fingers in time, but was still surprised by the window smashing in front of her and fell backwards from the force of it. She stared up at the widow from the ground with a look of slight annoyance, which she hadn't felt in a while.

The vampire hunter got back to her feet, dusting herself off, "I'd have to kill you to shut your "channel" off. I don't think you'd like that."

She then sighed and walked to the front of the house, where she sat next to the front door and watched the insects buzz about and other such creatures till Nisydes came out again.

Thankfully for the girl, it wasn't long. Nisydes came out soon enough, a shirt over his muscles. He did not look happy to see her there.

"Vat do you vant?"

"Alot of things. But at the moment, just to hang out with you," Callista said, getting up and stretching. "Maybe I can get you to break something else."

Before he could answer to that, she added with her hands at her hips, "But ya know, if you want me to stop following you, there's a very simple remedy. Just start following me."

Nisydes sighed deeply, briefly closing his eyes. A horrible truth overcame him- She would not go away. Opening his eyes, he scoffed at the notion of following a woman.

"As though I vould vaste my time vith a vomen...." He began walking towards the busy part of town, needing to purchase food and several other nessesities.

"What do you have against women anyways?" Callista asked, walking next to him, acting as though she didn't know she was being annoying.

Nisdyes grunts disprovingly, "They do not know their place. Vomen just roam about as though they vere as equal as men. Is not right."

Callista chuckled, "Oh, i forgot. He's that kind of person."

"It's not right? Well, why aren't we equal? What makes us different?"

Nisydes looked to her as though she should know the answer instead of him telling her.

"Vomen are only to breed. They keep the house clean and vatch over the offspring. Vomen vorking and fighting, is not right."

Callista smirked, "Men are the ones who decided that. If women are capable of fighting and working, then they should have the choice to do so. Just cause they can give birth, doesn't mean they're weak. I can prove it if you want."

At the last part she looked particularly smug as her hand rested on the hilt of her sword.

"I do not care vat you say. Vomen should be the ones to serve men." And the man snorted at the challange, "I do not hit vomen."

Callista raised an eyebrow, "I didn't mean to fight you. You're only human. But i could find the stongest vampire here and kill it to show you how much better I am than any man when it comes to killing demons."

((demon is used as an adjective ))

"That proves nothing, vomen. Anyvone can kill vampires, if they are aided by their tools and their weapons." Glares down at her, "Vomen need the use of such things to be equel to men."

It was then that it happened. Callista narrowed her eyes in annoyance. The first time in a very long time someone had actually annoyed her.

"I need no tools to show how much females are equal, no, even more superior to men." Callista found herself saying, which is strange since she never took anything like this serious before.

He scoffed, "Then vhy carry such veapons? If you are indeed superior, then you should vork and not just kill for the pleasure of killing." He stops, glaring at her, "I know your type. You think killing off vampires makes you stronger. It does not. Vorking to discipline and train yourself makes you stronger. Even if you are a vomen, strength can only be measured by your skill and not your false strength." Resumes his walking.

Callista stopped and simply stared at Nisydes' receeding back. Never was she told such things, in such a way. And for some reason, she cared. She cared about what he said, as though what he said was true and she had no come back. It annoyed the hell out of her.

Nisdyes continued to walk, but he did not hear her footsteps. Stopping, he turned and arched a brow at her.

"Vat? Did I finally get some sense into that nonsense brain of yours?" He called to her. He stood there, crossing his arms as he waited for her to resume following him. He had grown used to her company in such a short time, but didn't even notice the slight change. Talking to a women, waiting for said women to catch up with him to resume his shopping.

Callista continued to stare. Then finally...she left. She turned around and walked away. She decided that she needed some time away from him to gather her thoughts. These new feelings were strange and she knew they were coming from him. She needed to think of a good comeback.

Nisydes frowned and scoffed, shaking his head as he turned the other way and went to market.

"Vomen..." He muttered. Buying stuff that he kinda needed to live, Nisydes was soon done and going home. He had also bought a pan, spoon, plate, 'n at. The basic nesessities for living.

After a while, a familiar sound of footsteps came from behind him...

"You know. You've become a lot more interesting than before. I like that."

Upon hearing her footsteps and her voice, Nisydes cursed inwardly, Damnit....

Turning to see her, he huffed before replying, "I do not care if you like it or not." Then going back to doing his laundry.

Callista walked right up beside him with a grin. "You should, since I'm going to be around you for a very long time. So you better get used to me. I may be gone for a while to do what I do best and continue for my goal. But I'll always come back till I've figured you out and you interest me no more. You're so lucky."

Nisydes wasn't too happy about that, and it clearly showed on his face. Huffing, he went back to folding his clothing.

"Then you are in for big mistake. I am a man, nothing is really interesting about me." He stated flatly.

Callista knelt/sat next to him, "Thats what everyone says about themselves. So it doesn't matter what you think since I, not you, find you interesting. So what are you going to be doing today?"

He stared at her long and hard before sighing, folding another pair of pants.

"Laundry."

Callista blinked, "I see...then what?"

Nisydes shrugged, "Then I just sleep. That is all. Like I said, boring."

Callista grinned ignoring the last comment and stood. Talking mainly to herself she said, "I wonder if you sleep talk...then I can figure more about you..."

Nisydes glared to her, "I am not a vomen, I do no such thing."

Callista looked at him with her usual grin, "How would you know if you're asleep?"

He huffed at her, "Because I am a man dignity. My body vould never allow such foolishness."

Callista an eyebrow, "Suuure. You keep telling yourself that."

She was having fun. This was the first time in a long time that she interacted with someone like this. Usually she just blew everyone else off. Sometimes literally.

Nisydes rolled his eyes. Women, such immature breeders.... He finished with his laundry and picked it up, putting it over in a corner. He decided against living in the upstairs, and would settle down here.

But he still needed blacnkets 'n at. So getting up, he began to walk up the stairs.

As Callista followed him, she asked: "Why did you decided to live in here? It seems like a lot of carnage happened here. Aren't you worried that whatever done this will come back?"

Nisydes grunted in reply, "Vhy vould the killer return to a scene in vhich only dead bodies lie?" He went into a bedroom, which was still bloody as he decided not to waste the energy cleaning the upstairs (other than the bodies). Ruffling through the drawers, he found a few suitable clothing pieces and went into the closet. Finding a blanket and some extra pillows, he turned to her, "For a vampire killer, you do not seem to think like one."

"And you do?" Callista said, "And you never know....they might come back for no reason at all."

She then grinned and headed for downstairs. "I may have been a vampire for five years, but i definitely don't think like one."

Nisydes only stared at her retreating form. Women, ugh.... Shaking his head, he searched the other rooms for nessessary clothing and additional blankets. After all, while he did get the electricity to work, he didn't want to touch the heater. The man couldn't quiet place it, but he had always been uncomfortable with any indoor heating or air conditioning. Figuring it was just a stupid habit of his, he had shrugged it off a long time ago, merely adjusting to the cold by blankets and the like.

Going down the stairs, he paid no mind to Callista (unless she opened her mouth to spew more ridiculous words), putting the blankets with the clothing in a far off corner.

Callista was sitting on the cough and watched him for a moment before looking around.

"You know...."she started saying looking around, "I think this place isn't as bad as I thought. Could use a bit heat though..."

Nisydes snorted, "It does not." He walked into the kitchen, washing the dishes from earlier. He didn't know what to do after this. Perhaps take a nap... But that damn woman was here...

Callista laid down on the sofa with her arms behind her head. "Whatever you say. So, what now? Nothing?"

(glomp)

"Yes." He said matter of factly.

"Okay then." Callista replied. "But..." She sat up, "Is there a reason why you don't like to do anything? Or do you just like to do nothing?"

Nisydes gave her a good long hard stare before replying, his voice its usual curtness, "Voman, you are obviously thick skulled. I do not personally care if there is nothing to do; It's my reality."

"Not really." Callista said, not even blinking at the insult. "You've just created a reality where there's nothing to do."

Nisydes merely huffed in agreement as he sat down on a chair as far away from the woman as possible. Crossing his arms, he glared at her a moment before speaking.

"Since there is nothing to do, vhy don't you go?"

"Cause there's nothing to do." Callista said with a laugh. She then rested her chin on her palms. "I'm not hungry at the moment, I don't feel like killing anything right now, and the bars and clubs on this planet bore me."

She then stood from the sofa, dusting herself off, "I could find something more exciting to do. But why bother when you're interesting enough, even when you do nothing."

Callista scratched her head and look at him with a grin, "I guess that tells you how lazy I am."

Nisydes merely gave her a contemptive look, "Voman, go outside and find some entertainment. I am not a toy for you to vatch ven you are bored."

Callista just looked at him, not moving, "I don't understand. If you're so strong, why don't you make me?"

"I do not hit vomen."

Callista rolled her eyes and crossed her arms, "Is violence you're only answer? You don't have to hit me. All you have to do is catch me, pick me up, and throw me out the door..." she explained pointing to the door.

The sudden thought of him actually chasing her around the house brought an amuse smile to her face.

The man scoffed at the notion of touching her, "And vat use vould it do? You vould come back inside, like an annoying pest. You vill leave soon enough, until then I am stuck with a pest."

"Like you could catch me anyways." Callista muttered before saying, "Then just accept that you're stuck with me and stop telling me to leave."

"I vill continue telling you to leave until you do- I do not care if it is useless, but it is something." He glared to her, "I do not vant you to think that I am accepting of your staying here."

Callista jumped back onto the couch and got comfortable, "Okay then. But you should start accepting it, it'll make it easier."

He snorted, "Accepting a vomen into my life..... Such stupidity."

She looked at him, "Well, most men don't think so."

"I am not most men, vomen." He frowned.

"That's for sure." she said with curiosity. "What are you, hormone-less"

Looks to her, "Yes."

"Interesting," she said with a grin.

Nisydes rolled his eyes. She obviously could not detect sarcasm.... Little did he know, Nisydes did not possess a sarcastic voice

Callista yawned and closed her eyes, "Sometimes I wonder if you're human at all." she said, getting ready for a nap.

He saw that she was ready to sleep, and so didn't answer

"But...if you weren't human...then why do you work under vampires?" she saif sleepily to herself before falling asleep.

Glares at her tired form and keeps quiet.....

Callista was then asleep before she knew it, turning comfortably to her side...

Sighing in relief, Nisydes stood and walked off to the side. He began to do his usual stretching exercises- In order to keep in his perfect phsyic, no da. After the stretching, he exited the house, to run, military style.

((you're killing me with these posts of yours. ))

After half an hour, Callista woke from her nap and yawned widely while stretching. Scratching her head and trying to ease the pain from her now stiff back (its not that good to sleep on a sword strapped to your back, even if you're used to it), she glanced around. Noticing the absense of her stoic human interest, she got to her feet (stretching once more) and started to wander around the house.

"There has to be something around here that can tell me more about this Nisydes guy..." she thought to herself as she searched the place, room to room.

(Gomen...)

She will find nothing. He carries nothing of personalness other than his clothing. And, the only part of the hosue that he lives in is pretty much the kitchen and the living room.

"Wow..." Callista muttered to herself thoughtfully as she walked back to the living room. "...I've never met someone so interesting and boring at the same time before."

Nysides returned from his jog, panting heavily and with much sweat on him. Entering the house, his green eyes snapped to the woman still residing in there. Giving her a disproving look, he went into the kitchen and drank some water.

Callista grinned at him as he entered. When he left to the kitchen, she sat back down on the couch with a sigh.

"You know, there's a whole world out there that you are missing!" she called to him.

He walked over to her, drinking his water, "And I do not care." He said coldy, "The vorld around me is all that matter. The vorld outside of my vorld is not mine."

"Where do you come to these weird conclusions?" Callista replied, not expecting an answer. "There is no world outside your world. There's is just this one huge world where you take part in. You've just took a tiny chunk of this word and called it your own, even though its still attached to the rest of it. You ignore the rest of the world, even though its still there and is still yours to take."

She blinked and paused for a moment, then started laughing, "I can't believe you got me to talk such nonsense!"

(Gah, he has Russian accent, I'ma gonna try and type it for now on! . )

"And nonsense it is. Zer is no such zing as big vorld. Vat happens on ozer side of planet is not part of my life, my vorld. It is somevon else's. All zat happens in my life is vorking and resting. I do not ignore rest of vorld, nor does it to me. Ve just do not interact. Is simple like that." He glared to her, almost challenging her to reply to it and prove him wrong.

"Then how do you prove me?" Callista said standing, staring directly into his eyes and stepping slowly towards him. "I'm from the "outside world" as you put it and i'm interacting with you. I've made it so that now your "world" and life now consists of talking to me besides just working and resting. I made your world part of mine easily. I guess our worlds aren't so separate afterall."

"You are nozeng but interruption. You vill leave, eventually. And my vorld vill resume natural pace." He glared her down, wasn't gonna back away from a stupid woman.

"Yeah, you keep thinking that. But I'm not going anywhere," Callista said, not really sure herself why the hell she's sticking to this guy.

Well she definitely can't leave now. That would make him right and her wrong, and that would definitely suck.

"Hn." Was his reply as he turned and put the empty glass he had been drinking water from. Going into the living room, he put on a shirt and began to walk out, going back to his job again.

Deciding to bother him as much as possible, Callista walked a few paces ahead of him...backwards. She watched him with her arms in back of her head in a child-like way.

"Back to work, I see."

Nisydes only glared at her as he continued to walk. What an idiot woman....

"Of course, voman. Vhere else vould I be going?" He said gruffly, annoyed.

"I don't know..." She said, continuing to walk backwards. "Go to a club or something? Though sometimes those can be quite boring themselves."

Nisydes scoffed at the idea as he continued to walk with powerful strides.

"A club? Nonsense..."

Callista grinned michievously, "Why? I bet you've never been to one. Come on, lets play hookey."

Nisydes shook his head, looking annoyed, "Voman, you are mad. I vill not go to zome stupid club. I am going to vork."

"Oh, come on. Something interesting might happen!" Callista said now walking next to him. "Besides it can't be any more boring than moving bulders all day."

"Voman you can talk all you vant, but I am not going to a club." He glared ahead as he walked. The workplace was only a few blocks from them now.

Callista sighed exasperately, "How about after work? Come on, you are human, aren't you?"

"I vill not go anyvere, so just give up." He said to her as he reached the two vampire guards. They stared as Nisydes walked past, amazed that the woman was still with him.

Callista waved at the vampire guards, before chasing after Nysides again.

"You still haven't answered my question. Are you human or not?"

Nisydes snorted, "Of course, voman." He began to do his usual, toting around rocks and tossing them into piles.

"Then act like it!" she said, moving out of the way of the rocks he tossed. "Humans do things that have no other purpose but giving them pleasure. I have yet to see you do the same."

"I am not like ozer humans. I vork and I vork, is all that I need." He grunted, heaving another rock before turning to get more

Callista pouted. "Well, you're the first human i've ever met who loved moving large rocks around more than anything else, thats for sure."

"Hn." He grunted, it would suffice as his reply.

Callista found a seat on a large boulder and sat cross-legged with her chin in her palm, thinking. "You know...i'm thinking of taking a trip, explore the planet. Want to tag along?"

"No." He said flatly, doing his work and easily talking while moving the large rocks 'n at. Hehe, muscles.... "It is pointless to vander vhen I have job to do."

Callista looked at him exasperately, "Then after work! You don't have to work 24/7. I'm sure there is a time when all the work is done. Why not take a mini-tour with me then?"

He scoffed and paused in his working after tossing a large rock onto a pile, "Voman, I do not vant to go anyvere vis you. It is vaste of time for me. Beside," He started, heaving the last rock and going back to get more, "I do not like you."

Callista blinked, "Why?"

Oh ho, why? This woman had to question why?!!?

"You annoy me, you do not leave me alone. You zink zat you know more zan vat you know. You are a voman, a veak voman at zat, and you just follow me." He glared to her, "You vill not leave me alone."

Callista laughed loudly before getting off the large rock she was sitting on and picked it up easily with her vampiric strength. "Why people take things so seriously, I will never know."

Tossing it into the pile, she looked at him with a grin. "I do not dislike or like you. Well, you do interest me, so maybe I like you a little. But truthfully, I really don't understand the concept of liking and not liking, same with love and hate. However, you really shouldn't let people annoy you so easily. You'll be much happier."

The man scoffed at her stupid speech. Ridiculous. He began to tote the cart back, to get more rocks.

Happiness. Ha, as if he needed it.

"How did you get this way?" Callista asked suddenly as she followed him back. "You're not normal, that's for sure."

Nisydes grunted as he lifted more rocks onto the carrier, "I have alvays been, as you put it, 'zis vay'. Is normal for me." He glared to her.

Callista tilted her head and folded her arms, "But I thought you said you were human. Your behavior isn't normal for humans."

The man growled as he stopped moving the cart, looking over to glare at her, "Vat is normal?"

Callista raised a finger to the air as she explained, "A normal human being doesn't enjoy labour 24/7. They enjoy having fun, being with a companion, having sex, or even drinking until they can't see straight. In order words, doing things that have no productive purpose except to give pleasure. Hell, even vampires do it...alot actually."

She grinned sheepishly, "Why do you think I hang out with you so much?"

"Because you are daft." He snorted before continuing to move the cart. But he paused and looked to her with a stern eye, "Vere I came from, it vas normal to vork all ze time. It vas normal to refuse to drink or have the sex for mere pleasure. It vas normal to be me zere." He went back to pushing the cart.

Callista grinned inwardly. Finally, she was getting somewhere.

"Where was that?" she asked, following him.

"It vas on Earth." He began hoisting the rocks and throwing them into the pile. To Nisydes, it was clear that it was all he would say on the subject.

"I see." she said interestedly, but was inwardly annoyed. "Earth? Well duh..."

Callista desided to see how much she could guess about his past and use his reactions to see if they were true of not.

"Were you an orphan?" she asked, leaning against a stone wall.

The man hmphed as he hoisted another rock, "No." He had his usual scowl, so no emotion changed.

"Two parents?" Callista asked next, keeping the questions as simple as possible and keeping emotion out of her voice.

(hugs I love her!! She's actually making SO much progress!)

Nisydes snorted, looking at her, "Voman, I came from normal family. Two parents, a brozer. Zat is all." He then took the cart, going back. Nisydes frowned as he stopped and looked to her.

"Stop asking." He glared at her and turned, not wanting to hear the retort.

((LOL and she wasn't even really trying at first lol))

The word "brother" immediately caught her interest "A brother?..."Callista muttered slightly, wondering if she could push some more out of him. "No asking, eh?"

"I bet he's as strong as you." she said watching for a reaction.

Walking away the comment caught his ear, and the man found himself replying yet again, "No. He is dead." He continued to move to the place, stopping the cart and loading it up again.

"Oh," Callista said as she followed, but didn't get too close this time. "I wonder how that happened."

She tried to think of how this brother could have died, and how were the parents of this man were like. The harder Callista tried, the more curious she got, and the more interesting she found Nisydes. He was like a jigsaw puzzle that Callista was dying to finish.

"He stopped living." Was the simple reply.

"That must have sucked," Callista said, having no real opinion on the matter since she never had a family of her own and knew nothing about what that kind of loss would mean.

She then looked at him curiously, "Unless...you wouldn't have been the one who killed him, by any chance?"

Nisydes fist was upon her face in an instant. Unless she dodged, then it would've DEFINTELY left a mark and left her on the ground.

Whether or not she dodged, the man glared at her, internally surprised at himself for such a reaction, but outwardly pissed as all hell.

((I KNEW IT! I was kinda expecting him to throw a rock at her, but I still expected this kind of reaction. Lol.))

Callista saw it coming about two seconds before the fist would've made contact. Hell, if she had been closer to him she wouldn't have seen it at all. But she did, and with vampiric reflexes, Callista quickly dodged the blow. Unfortunately, even for a vampire she was a bit clumsy when she was surprised (which rarely happened) and though successfully got some distance from him, Callista slipped on some rock and landed hard on her butt (she wasn't very graceful). With a slight grimace she looked up at his glaring face from the ground.

With her breathing slightly faster than normal and her heart pounding, she said "Guess I was wrong, huh?"

Callista got back to her feet, dusting herself off as confusion started to settle in. She didn't understand love, hate, or anger for that matter. "Why is he acting this way?"

"Am I right to presume that something else caused his death?" she said, watching him closely for any other signs of an attack.

I'm so happy!! Finally, someone got his snapping point! hugs )

As Callistra went down, Nisydes didn't even bother to stay. Gritting his teeth, he turned and began to angrily strut out of the work place. His steps were hard against the earth, fists clutched so tightly that veins popped out.

He walked past the guards, who were too surprised to stop him. Nisydes? Walking out after so many years of loyal service?! The one guard got to his senses and frowned, walking forward to place a hand onto the man.

"Hey now, you can't just stop, even if you're our best worker. Hey!" The vampire growled as Nisydes tore out of his grip. Not being one to be a coward, Nisydes powerful legs began to sprint before eventually running. With such muscles, he moved quite fast.

His family... Something he had pushed past his active mind a long, long time ago. Gritting his teeth, he could see the vivid memories. Mor (mother)... Far (father)... Levushka (that's his bro's name)...

Callista frowned when Nisydes turned from her. Scowling slightly in annoyance (the second time in a long time that she's felt it) she quickly followed the man.

She followed him till he reached the guards. When he started running, Callista stopped in shock "He's running away? From work? From me?!"

Callista was torn with amusement from getting such a human reaction from him, and another feeling she didn't understand. Slowly, the amusement was overcome by this other emotion which she didn't like at all.

"Hey! Don't you dare run from me!!" She said angrily, and chased after him.

Truthfully, Nisydes did not know why he was running. The blood pumping through his veins send a pounding in his head. His breathing was rythmatic and clouded out any other sounds. The movement of the muscles pulsating in his arms and legs felt so alien just then.

Above all else, however, he could hear her. Gritting his teeth, he forced himself to run faster. Why, he didn't know, yet again. Nisydes was just concentrated on a past he had suppressed and how easily it had come to him from.... From.... From a woman. A being much lower in stature than him and hardly at the moral level he was on.

Gritting his teeth, he continued to run, his legs carrying him fast and hard. He could run like this for an hour, tops. Even then still be sprinting for a good half day afterwards.

Callista was surprised at how, even with her vampire abilities, she had to put some effort in catching up with him. She quickly jumped onto a dumpster, then onto the top of a building, where she continue to chase him from above.

"What's the matter with him?" she muttered to herself, jumping over a gap between buildings. "How long is he gonna run?"

Then suddenly, a very amusing thought came to her mind. A grin on her face, she sped up so much that it seemed she had vanished. When reappeared, she had stopped quite a distance ahead of him. Callista then removed her coat and sword from her back and set them down on the rooftop. Then she climbed down the building a bit, hanging from a window's edge. Using the shadows for cover, Callista waited. When Nisydes was comming close, she dived at him in an attempt to tackle him to the ground...

He continued to run, and into Callistra's little trap. Unfortunately, he was a military man, and thus, even bearing the onslaught of unwanted emotions, was fairly alert.

To Nisydes, all he saw was something coming at him. His legs collasped as he hauled himself forward, rolling on the ground. As he stood, he was quick to turn and place himself in a defensive position. Being on auto mode, he had assumed that an enemy was attacking him.

Callista missed her target as Nisydes rolled away. Cursing, she landed on her hands, did a flip and landed on her two feet. She turned towards him, also in a defensive position.

"Are you going to start running again? Cause thats really annoying," she said, scarlet eyes watching his every move and expression. Then on a slighter lower tone, "What did I say to justle you so much?"

Once he saw it was her, his stare narrowed even further and a scrowl set upon his lips. Removing himself from the defensive position, he merely glared at her in silence.

Truthfully, he didn't know how to reply. No, he knew how to reply. He just didn't want to reply. Then he'd just fall further into her little world, where she'll begin to become apart of him and he knew, knew, that he would never be able to be truly alone again.

It had taken him years to erase the lonliness from his family, yet in one fell swoop, it all came back. Damn this woman.... Thus, Nisydes was left glaring at her with anger unyielding.

Callista smirked and put a hand to her hip, turning her defensive position to a confident one.

"Why are you so angry? How in the world did a "woman" get you this angry?" she said, finding amusement in the situation for some reason. She then narrowed her eyes, "Is it because something terrible happened to your brother? Your family too perhaps? Is that why you are the way you are?"

"Answer me, you coward!" Callista commanded, trying to force any kind of a reply from him.

Nisydes jaw clentched as he spoke, and he twitched a bit as she had called him a coward. The sad thing was, he was acting cowardly. But surely this did not mean that he was a coward!!

Still, he didn't exactly wish to tell her everything... But, what was he going to say? I just don't want to tell you after she had been through so much trouble with him. Though he loathed to admit it, she had stuck around and talked to him more than any other random stranger. While it was annoying, it astrounded him. Why the HELL would someone do that?!

So with an angry sigh, Nisydes gave in slightly. Giving into a woman.... Something he had never done.

"My family vas taken from me, to die a meaningless death." He glared at her, hands tight as his controlled breathing hardly gave out any emotion, despite the increased sweat, "Zey vere innocent, but I vatched as zey vere taken from me, and vatched as zey vere murdered... No, massacred ze next day. I vas forced to help kill zem, and zen bury zheir bodies. My family does not rest, even now."

"So you are an orphan..." Callista muttered, to herself, she then walked a few paces closer to him.

"What do you mean, you were forced to help kill them? Who killed them?" Her voice was still strong, but wasn't as demanding as before. She was soo interested, so intrigued, and didn't even know why. But that didn't matter now, all that mattered was that he kept talking.

Nisydes found himself answering, despite not wanting to. It was a horrible memory, one he didn't want to relay to someone. .... Even though it felt slightly better to tell someone this.

"My commanding general, Mistress Zaini ordered me to do it. I vas ten ven it happened." She didn't even ask when it happened, why did he tell her that?! "Ve lined zem up and zen shot zem vis our guns... Zey vere hanging from ropes.... Ve first shot at zheir feet... Zen zheir legs.... And kept going up until ve shot zem out of zheir misery."

"Why?!" Callista asked, there was something in her voice that she didn't recognize. It had something to do with what he said, describing how his family were killed. But that didn't matter. Only the answer to her question was.

"What did they do to deserve that? Were you and this Mistress Zaini part some sort of military force?" she said, taking a few more steps closer to him.

He didn't move, nor did his face. He could feel a certain undescribable pull that seemed to have made his talk unreal. As though he were just answering questions automatically. Perhaps it was due to his training, when a sergent used to drill him with questions, each one Nisydes asking automatically from his memory...

"Mistress Zaini is our dicator." He replied, voice drull, "Vat she says is vat ve do. And she ordered us to kill my family. So I did.

Closer she got, as though for some unknown reason she was being pulled to him. It was so strange, but Callista didn't stop to try to analyze it.

"Why? Why didn't you fight for your family if you obviously loved them and cared if they died or not?!" this was the question that Callista was surprised she had asked.

Love? He loved his family...but...what is love? She's heard about it, and read about it...but never experienced it. But it was obvious from the way he was acting that this bothered him, so that did mean he loved them....did it not? Confusion suddenly filled her mind and she could barely think properly anymore.

He glared at her as he responded, "I vas 10, hardly a man and hardly to zink for myself. I had been in the military for five years, and learned to do vat I vas told." He spoke very bitterly, "It vas only after I had done ze deed zat I realized vat I did." He kept his anger in control surprisingly. Because he knew if he got angry at her, he could do something he regretted.

Like killing her.

Callista then kept silent, the confusion wasn't lifting and it was driving her crazy. In the end, the only thing she could ask was.

"Where on the planet Earth did this happen? Where was this society?"

Nisydes huffed as he barked at her, "Vat good vill it do!? Vill you just so blindly charge in zhere, and kill ev'ryvone just to avenge vat happened? It is useless, as I am no longer vis zem!

"You vould do nozing, anyvay. Imagine a military vis over 10 thousand men just like me. You vould die in minutes."

Callista looked at him for the longest time. She wanted to laugh histerically, but didn't. Her? Go and avenge someone? Fight for someone else? The mere thought seem so perposterous that it was funny.

"I doubt I would die, but I never said I was planning on such a thing," she said impassively. "I just wanted to know. I always just want to know. I like knowing, thats all. The more I know, the less confused I am. Besides, it's all very interesting."

Nisydes felt... Embarrased. He had never really felt this emotion for so many years. Why the hell did he make that assumption? Why was he even talking?! But still.....

"Good to know vat I had done is interesting." He stated bitterly, "Go off and find ozer interesting things, like fazers killing their sons." He turned and began walking back to his house. A headache was coming on.

"I can't!" Callista said, and started to slowly follow him again. "There's noone as interesting as you, right now. Besides, I don't find evil things like that interesting...maybe the ones who make such an act, but not the act itself."

He didn't like it. So he was just entertainment? Usually, he would just ignore idiots. But this.... This was bothering him more than anything.

So the fact that he so blindly killed his family was amusing to her?! Stopping, he clentched his fists. He was seriously going to hit her again... Then maybe rip out her throat.

"Go avay." He said through gritted teeth, "Or you'll find yourself hurt."

Callista grinned, "I thought you said you didn't hit women? Anyways...why are you so mad for?"

Why, WHY. She thought his past was amusing, as if it's only purpose in his history was to amuse her! Disgusted, he turned around, glaring at her. Fine then. He would tel her EXACTLY why he was so angry.

"You zink you are special, yet you are not. You find me, somevone who is not like anyvone you have ever known. Of course you vould be curious, all vomen are like zis. But.... You zink that what I had done vas interesting, as zo it only existed for your amusement." He snarled, hands in fists, "You disgust me, vomen! You zink zat vat I had done, for whom it vas done for, vas interesting?! Do you like to vatch as people are shot down by zheir own family?!" He was obviously ticked off and emotional during his outburst.

Callista, unphased by his anger, stood silent and emotionless for a long moment. She was thinking, cause she didn't understand. Yes, she did find him interesting. She's never met anyone quite like him. And yes, what made him the way he is was also interesting. But...was it amusing? Killing your own family? Amusing? No it's not...then what is it? "What do I feel when I think about what he was forced to do...killed the ones who loved you...love?...what the hell is love...love....is supposed to be a good thing...something that is warm...something nice, i've heard...to lose something nice...I don't understand."

"I don't find what you did to your family amusing. But I do find it interesting...cause I don't understand. I don't understand why you were ordered to do such a thing, and I don't understand why it is you feel so much pain over..." Callista froze. That was it. Pain! He felt pain!! When he realized that he had killed his parents, he felt increadible pain. His family died...he's alone. This had hurt him. He shot them dead, and caused himself to be alone. Loneliness...

"I just don't understand," Callista said, unaware that there were tears falling down her emotionless face.

If Nisydes had ever met a more confusing person he knew that they wouldn't match Callistra. Staring at her, he listened and watched as tears began to fall down her face. She didn't understand....

As Callistra came to her realization, Nisydes made one of his own. She was a child. She was a child, innocent to so many emotions. She was a niave killing machine, a child. The thought of her being a child forced him to become slightly less angry. She didn't know that it was wrong to find something like this interesting. She obviously had never dealt with real emotions before.

"I vas ordered to do so to entertain Mistress Zaini. Zat vas ze only reason." He said, being gentle. He wondered why he spoke so gently, "Vomen, I felt pain over it because I killed my family. If you do not love your family, zen you cannot understand and will never understand." He felt the urge to teach her what was wrong and what was right, this thought startled him, but he kept his outward appearence in its usual scrowl.

Callista blinked, causing more tears to fall, "I don't have a family. I never did. There's never been anyone in my life where I felt...um...the same feeling you felt for your family. But I want to understand anyways!"

It was then that she realized she was crying. She touched her face, and looked at the dampness of her hand with surprise. "What's this?" This was the first time she's ever cried, even as a child. There never seemed a time where tears were necessary. But now here she was, crying...why?

She looked back up at him. Was he the cause of this?

"I'm sorry if I've caused you pain. That wasn't my intention," she said suddenly, her voice emotionless, but also a bit confused, as though she wasn't sure of what she was saying.

Causing pain in others was not her thing. Killing yes, but only to test her abilities. She never found amusement in the killing, but just the result. Someone was dead, someone hard to kill, someone who probably deserved death. It was an accomplishment, thats all. It was fun. It was a reminder that she existed and had an impact in this world. Was that the reason she liked bugging him? To prove she had an impact on someone, thus further proving her existance?

"You have to love first." He said, not moving. No, he wouldn't push away her tears, that was her responsibility, "If you have loved first, zen you can understand...." His reply was simple, though his thinking was not.

Now he was becoming curious. Why did this woman do what she did? Why did she find such sick things interesting? Why did she have no family, not know what love was? Apparently, this annoyance was more than just a niave child.

"Love?" She looked up at him, puzzledly. "But...with who?"

It was then that it happened. As Callista looked at him, her heart started pounding in her chest and she could feel heat rising in her face. It all came over so suddenly that she started to feel the one emotion she hated the most: fear. Callista didn't like this new subject and was suddenly terrified. She had to get away.

"I have to go!"

It was now her turn to run, which was exactly what she did. Turning around, she took off so fast that it seemed she had just dissapeared.
