At first there was nothing.

The darkness was empty and cold,

The air dense and numbing.

A flicker of light

Peered out from the shadows,

Suddenly the Earth began to ignite.

The volcanic surface began to change,

Bodies of water formed,

The land was arranged.

Over millions of years (too many to be counting)

Plants began to sprout,

Animals were born of nothing.

They thrived on the land,

The lived in the sea,

And then -- there was man.

We grew and evolved

We thrived and learned

Man took control of all.

Our Earth is dying,

Pollution, war, slaughter.

Our father is crying.

Humans must adapt,

The destruction cease,

For the well being of Earth,

We must have peace.
